      (903) Houston Astros at (904) Oakland Athletics: Chris Bassitt Over 3.5 strikeouts -140

After stringing together 5 strikeouts vs the White Sox and putting together the season that he has, I am surprised to see a 3.5 here as the strikeout prop number. Although Bassitt isn't a strikeout pitcher, this number of 3.5 is too low here, although his last 5 meetings weren't against the toughest of competition, he has reached at minimum 4 strikeouts in all of his last 5 outings - that would include the game against the Astros on the 7th of September where he posted 4.

One thing promising about Bassitt especially in a playoff scenario is the fact that he will be out there for as long as he can go. In the majority of Bassitt's starts, we've seen him go at least 6 innings and sometimes 7.

Posting a 5-2 record on the year with a 2.29 ERA and 55 K's, I expect Bassitt to look sharp early on here.

Note the time off as well for an Astros club coming off their sweep of the Twins.

As I type this analysis the total for this game is 56 1/2 points. A tall total to be sure, but oh-so attainable for the Falcons and the Packers in this Monday night matchup.

Atlanta has played Over the total in 4 straight and 7 of their last 9 dating back to last season, with ALL 3 games this season in the Over column. The Falcons have scored 25, 39 and 26 points but they have also allowed 38, 40 and 30 points in losing their first 3 games of the season and more points will be given up tonight to Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

Green Bay is on a stretch of 5 straight Overs since last season, with all 3 this year obviously landing Over the total. The Packers have scored 43, 42 and 37 points and have also allowed 34, 21 and 30 points to be scored against them.

I know both teams have some dinged-up skill position players, but both Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers are healthy, so as long as a sudden blizzard doesn't develop - it won't expected high of 61 with a low of 48 - look for Ryan and Rodgers to duel it out and for the points to add up at Lambeau Field.

This one should land in the 60's once the final seconds come off the clock.

          Falcons-Packers Over.
