Oakland -132
HOU @ OAK | 10/05 | 4:07 PM EDT
Lance McCullers Jr. will be making his first postseason appearance this season with his start today. McCullers Jr. is on a 17.2 Earned run less streak (allowed four unearned) in last three starts, however the Astros lost all three games. Chris Bassitt was 5-2 with a 2.29 ERA this season and he won his first postseason start against the White Sox throwing seven innings of one run ball. The Athletics won seven out of 10 times they played each other this season.
5-3 IN LAST 8 MLB ML PICKS | +250
14-7 IN LAST 21 HOU ML PICKS | +776
Oakland OV 8.5
Both pitchers have been tremendous in their home parks, but have struggled everywhere else. This will be the fourth time this year the Astros have seen Chris Bassitt. The temperature will be in the 90s in Los Angeles, meaning fly balls will carry at least 30 to 40 feet further.

Houston +115
The Houston Astros probably have no right to be in the postseason. But here they are, the team no one wanted to see or face in the playoffs. Houston will face a team it lost seven of 10 meetings to this year and there is no love lost between these ballclubs. This game is being played at a neutral field and I think that favors the Astros, who were dreadful on the road this year. This is a great pitching matchup and one bad pitch can be the difference. Houston is 7-0 in its last seven games as a playoff underdog. The A's are 2-6 in their last eight playoff games.
