Finger Lakes - Race #1

#1 My Girl Annie	Veteran has been routing with no success of late, so this cutback should work, based on her sprint form, and she also catches a group loaded with speed; look out.
#7 Bel Cuore	Price player has a hint of a rating gear, which should work well here, as that will get her first run on the pick, though she's a bit outgunned on figures; second-best.
#8 Heartbustingirl	Pace presser did well to draw outside the other speed, and she hasn't missed the EX in six starts of late, though she does meet tougher today; mixed signals here.
Race Summary	Pace makes the race and there's a ton of it here, and that should really help the chances of the 1, while hurting those of nearly everyone else, so play her aggressively to win and place, while getting some additional value by keying her to kick off the early Pk4 as well, since that will allow for some more coverage in the ensuing legs.

Finger Lakes - Race #3

#7 City Bird Flying	Lightly raced missed woke up last time when a distant 2nd, in what was the first sign of life she's shown in five starts, and there's only one to fear here, and even she's no great shakes, and the price on this miss will be much better; look out.
#8 Molly's Nighthawk	Lifetime maiden is clearly best on paper and wins this by a furlong with her best, but her local bow last time was much, much slower than her bet, so it's clear she's not nearly the same, and yet will be bet off the board again; backwheel time.
#1 Bug Tales	Well-drawn filly wasn't far behind the pick in 3rd, in what was her route debut too, so there's reason to think she's now going the right way now, and the price will be a lot better here too, if you're a believer she's turned the corner; exotics appeal.
Race Summary	That 5-1 ML on the pick would be enough risk-reward to see if she has in fact turned the corner, and with just the 8 to be scared of, if at all, you can play her to win and place, and especially in the early Pk4 as well, as budget players will flock to 'Molly's, even though there's no way to bank on today finally being her day.

Finger Lakes - Race #7

#6 It's Gravy	Major player was a pressing on debut at the Spa, so this outside attack post is perfect, and, aside from the heavy chalk, this is a group full of unknowns; call to post the mild surprise.
#4 Thin White Duke	Deserving stiff ML favorite broke his maiden in a Spa stakes and hasn't missed the board in five starts, but there's not a lot of upside here, and the pick will get first run; second-best.
#3 Our Man Mike	Stretch runner closed to be 4th in his lone Spa start, at 7-2 as well, so they liked him, and if things get too heated up front he's got every chances to make a late dent; will be closing.
Race Summary	You won't get rich on the 6, but they will bet the 4 hard, and he showed last time it's not impossible to win a stakes as a maiden, so play the pick to win and place, and especially in the Pk5, and late Pk4 as well, as budget players will be singling the 4, even though it's 'Gravy who has the upside to really improve here off that debut.

Mountaineer - Race #1

#10 Atreyu	Faced much better at Pimlico last out when suffering his first turf loss from seven starts, but he's back here on a steep drop and should be able to handle these.
#3 Gold Shark	Winless from five career turf starts, he's bringing sharp form with him on the main track, and he should be in line for a nice trip right up near the top.
#2 Atlantic Sum	Takes a slight step up for this one as he meets a decent group for the level, but he loves the local turf course and showed up with a big first effort for the new barn.
Race Summary	Atreyu drops while getting back to a course he loves, and his baseline turf effort is probably good enough to win this. 7/2 would be interesting.

Mountaineer - Race #2

#6 Perfect Doll	Slow maiden win going short at Belterra, but she's bred to get two turns and is probably fast enough to find the top on the stretchout. Think she has a longshot chance.
#10 Wonder Blondy	Found the locals a bit more to her liking when posting that easy maiden win, and something similar to that would probably be good enough to win right back.
#4 Nomiraclesneeded	Dunked on a local group by 17 the only time she showed up here, and her only career turf try earned an okay number. She has been all or nothing so far throughout her career, and I'd expect no different tonight.
Race Summary	Perfect Doll should get overlooked on a 36-1 maiden win that produced a low figure, but there is some distance in her pedigree and the front end may be there for the taking.

Mountaineer - Race #3

#4 R Paper Chaser	Tactical type fits well at this kind of level and should be in touch throughout. The price gets better this time around, too.
#1 Nellysford	Gets some significant class relief out of the modest Monmouth try, and she was an easy winner locally at this price in her most recent try here.
#6 Smart N Wicked	Tactical speed goes off the claim brings pretty solid recent form to this and has never tried going short on the turf. She might like the trip.
Race Summary	R Paper Chaser should get a decent go of things from close range, and this doesn't feel like a super deep group for this level.

#3 Field Letters	Is a serious closer and is ideally placed; there will be plenty of speed in front of her and she can be rolling at the end.

KATAPULT - Has run solidly when racing a short race. Should best this field here, showing competitive figures of late.

ASTROMELIA - I think that a sprinter coming off a layoff will usually run her best in the 3rd or 4th start back. When Ortiz and Rodriguez partner up on horses the ROI has been wonderful at +270. She has the topmost earnings per start. Take a good look at this horse. AZNAVOUR - Look at this filly's PP lines. With each contest she keeps getting closer. Atop this thoroughbred on Sep 30th and Ayala is right back in the irons today. That last outing must not have been too hard on this filly for her to be able to race again so quickly. Looking at today's class rating, this thoroughbred is meeting an easier group than last time around the track at Mountaineer Park. Look for this filly to show better in this event. Last event at Mountaineer Park finishing fifth on the soft turf is no sign of her true ability.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 DILEMMA (ML=8/5), #7 MY CLAW (ML=3/1), #5 ROSES FOR DOUG (ML=5/1),

DILEMMA - I normally try to beat this kind of chalk. Extended layoff and no drop in level of competition. MY CLAW - Doesn't seem inspiring to me after the lack of any type of closing ability on September 29th. This equine doesn't have a tenacious mental state. Time-and-again finishes in the place and show hole. ROSES FOR DOUG - I can't play this habitual non-winner. Gets the task executed now and then. The speed fig last time around the track doesn't fit very well in this affair when I look at the Equibase class figure of today's contest. Mark this horse as a vulnerable competitor.

Morales should be on a horse ready to win right here. PUFFER FISH - This rider/handler duo has been producing a very lucrative ROI, right at +101. Finished out of the money last out at Presque Isle Downs, but was within 5 lengths of the winner. Opening at 5/1 makes me think she's got a chance. Recent Equibase speed figures show strong pattern of improvement. NAGINI - I like to invest in this handicapping angle, a campaigner coming back off a sharp effort within the last 30 days.

Don't feel this entrant will make an impact in today's event. That last speed figure was pedestrian when compared with today's Equibase class figure.
