My “Cutting Room Floor” plays are the situations I considered the closest to being worthy of investment but did not make the “final cut” for my official plays today for subscribers. The last play on my cut list for this evening is with Under the Total in the game between the Georgia State Panthers and the Arkansas State Red Wolves. Georgia State (1-1) comes off a 49-29 win at East Carolina back on October 3rd. The Panthers have played 6 of their last 7 games Under the Total after scoring at least 40 points in their last game. Georgia State has also played 4 of their last 5 games Under the Total on the road. Arkansas State (2-2) comes off a 50-27 win over Central Arkansas last week as a 14.5-point favorite. The Red Wolves have played 10 of their last 12 games Under the Total after a win by at least 20 points. Arkansas State has also played 10 of their last 13 games Under the Total after allowing at least 40 points in their last game. Take the Under. Best of luck — Frank.

We won easy on the Dodgers (ML) in Game 3, as LA exploded for 11 runs in the Top of the 1st inning and went on to win the game 15-3. We aren't laying north of -200 with the Dodgers in Game 4, instead we roll LA -1.5 on the run line.
I look for another offensive outburst for the Dodgers, as Atlanta will be starting 22-year-old Bryse Wilson. He's more of an opener than he is a starter. Wilson only completed more than 3 innings twice all season. Not having a guy that can go deep is a big blow to the Braves after yesterday's starter didn't even get out of the 1st inning.
Kershaw will be on the mound for the Dodgers and while there is some concern with his health (scratched from Game 2 with a bad back), all signs are that he's ready to go. Even if he's not at his best, he still should be good enough to keep LA out in front. Definitely worth noting that Kershaw has owned the Braves. He's 7-0 with a 1.49 ERA and 0.900 WHIP in 14 career starts vs Atlanta (12-2 team record). Give me the Dodgers -1.5 (-140)!

Thursday MLB Free play. My selection is on the 'over' between Los Angeles and Atlanta at 8:08 pm et on Thursday.
The tide has seemingly turned in this series, with the Dodgers offense exploding over the last game (and the ninth inning of Game 2). With the 'over' having cashed with ease in each of the last two contests, I look for more of the same on Thursday. Clayton Kershaw will make his much-awaited first start of the NLCS after getting pushed back due to back spasms. You have to question whether he's 100% healthy and he certainly faces a tall task against a terrific Braves lineup that is in a key bounce-back spot here. Meanwhile, Atlanta will turn to Bryse Wilson for a spot start. He was generally a long reliever during the regular season and likely won't be asked to work deep into this ball game. Like Kershaw, Wilson faces a tough challenge, especially with the Dodgers having got their swagger back at the plate over the last two games. Take the over (8*).

The set-up: Game 1 went "under," but both Game's 2 and 3 have flown well "over" the posted number. I believe that Game 4 sets up as more of a "duel" though finally. Especially after yesterday's crazy 15-3 win by the Dodgers. I have a wager on the Braves to win the World Series, a bet placed five months before the season even started. Whether its Clayton Kershaw or Dustin May getting the start here, I like the "under" here for sure. Kershaw is 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA so far in the playoffs, while May went 3-1 with a 2.57 ERA in the regular season.
The pick: The Braves counter with Bryse Wilson, who made two starts in the regular season and who allowed one run over eight innings. Clearly Atlanta will move quickly to its bullpen here and note that the Braves have seen the total dip below the posted number in seven of their last 11 after allowing 13 or more runs in a loss in their previous outing. This number is a tad high, consider the "under" in Game 4.

The Mustangs offense is engineered by Shane Buechele who is completing nearly 70 percent of his passes. Buechele has thrown for 1,326 yards, 10 TDs with just two picks. Reggie Roberson Jr and Rashee Rice lead the wideout corps with 746 receiving yards and 5 TDs. The offense grinds out 219.5 ypg on the ground behind lead rusher Ulysses Bentley IV.

Defensively, SMU is allowing 23.3 pts and 412.5 ypg. Delano Robinson and his 31 tackles lead an experienced and talented defense.

The Green Wave have been inconsistent through four games this 2020 season. Tulane scored 68 points in an impressive victory over Southern Miss. As well, they failed to score in the 2nd half of their loss to Navy. A game in which they held a 24-0 halftime lead.

Freshman Michael Pratt made his first career start last Saturday in a disappointing performance for the Wave. Pratt threw for just 141 yards and one touchdown in last week's loss to the Houston Cougars.

A Friday night lights game vs. Tulane presents the Mustangs with a look-ahead trap after a win over ranked Memphis and having ranked Cincinnati on deck.

Don't count on Buechele to be anything but his best as the Mustangs go to 5-0 with a double-digit victory in league play.
