Since the start of the 2019 season, the Rays are 10-0 with Wednesday's starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow as a favorite after August. If all you look at is the scores of these two teams you will find that Coastal Carolina looks very attractive getting over a TD. But if you dig deeper you will find that Coastal Carolina played 3 very bad defenses. You will also find that they played all 3 of their games on consecutive weeks in September. You may be wondering why I even point that out well Coastal Carolina was one of the only teams in the country that got all of their spring practices in this year. They were 15 for 15. That was a huge edge in those first games when playing teams with bad defenses and teams who didn’t have all their practices as many lost practices due to Covid issues. Those advantages are now gone that both teams have had 3 games under their belt. Lafayette has a defense that will stop Coastal Carolina and once Coastal Carolina falls behind they will have to throw the football more which takes them out of their comfort zone. And for Lafayette having faced Georgia St and Georgia Southern in back to back games they have had plenty of practice stopping the run. My numbers have Louisiana Lafayette winning 34-20.
