MS BIG SPRING - This horse wins a lot of dough per race. At the top in this race. LITTLE BIT GOOD - Utilizing this jock/handler combination is a good choice. I like when a pony wins after shipping in from elsewhere. It shows that they really like the track here. I'll take this filly to win again. A thoroughbred coming back this quickly after a sharp race is a good sign.

A BEAUTIFUL DAY - I normally try to beat this kind of chalk. Extended layoff and no drop in level of competition. CARIBBEAN KITTEN - Looked like she was in good form on Oct 7th. Hasn't been near the track since then though. Not a positive sign. CHARLOTTE THE BRIT - Can't play this less than sharp equine in today's sprint of 7 1/2 furlongs. Hasn't even hit the board in a short distance affair lately. I cannot play this confirmed non-winner. Gets the assignment done occasionally.

The line keeps dropping as the Golden Flashes were nearly a TD favorite and are now down to nearly a FG favorite in this one. I like Kent State at home in this one. They have won each of the last 5 meetings ATS and also got the SU win in 4 of the 5 games. Eastern Michigan lost an all-MAC quarterback plus their top running back from last season. The Eagles also lost two of their top tacklers from last year's defense. Eastern Michigan truly lost key personnel plus a lot of experience overall from last season's team and on both sides of the ball too. I am forecasting this to be a rebuilding season for the Eagles. Though Kent State is by no means a great team, they are the better team in this match-up plus at home plus return a lot more experience from last year's team than does Eastern Michigan. FRANK’S CUTTING ROOM FLOOR FOR WEDNESDAY, 11/4:

My “Cutting Room Floor” plays are the situations I considered the closest to being worthy of investment but did not make the “final cut” for my official plays today for subscribers. One of the final plays that I considered closely but dismissed on Wednesday was Over the Total in the game between Eastern Michigan and Kent State. Eastern Michigan makes their season debut having played 6 straight games Over the Total when playing on the road. The Over is also 6-0-1 in the Eagles last 7 games when they are an underdog. Kent State hosts this opening game in Mid-American Conference play having played 4 of their last 5 games Over the Total. The Golden Flashes have also played 5 of their last 7 games Over the Total in November “MACtion” but those team trends should perhaps be taken with a grain of salt considering that Kent State had more than half their season completed for those previous November games. Wednesday CFB Free play. My selection is on the 'over' between Eastern Michigan and Kent State at 6 pm et on Wednesday.
This is the highest posted total on this week's MAC board but it's warranted in my opinion. I'm anticipating a shootout as the Eagles and Golden Flashes kick off a unique 2020 MAC season on Wednesday night. Eastern Michigan's offense was a rock solid a year ago but the common line of thinking is that it will take a step back with QB Mike Glass moving on. However, I still like what the Eagles have at all the skill positions on offense, particularly at wide receiver and tight end, and I'm also confident their offensive line can thrive, even with a few key losses from last season. This is a system that has been working and I like the opening week matchup against a beatable Kent State defense that didn't do a good enough job of getting after opposing quarterbacks last year. On the flip side, the Golden Flashes offense should be in for a big night against an Eagles defense that was bad last season and could be even worse in the early going here in 2020. QB Dustin Crum is an elite quarterback by MAC standards and will be working behind an offensive line that can only improve with four starters back in the fold after a dismal 2019 campaign. As I mentioned, the Eagles defense is by no means imposing and unlikely to apply enough pressure to take advantage of a Kent State o-line that likely needs to shake off some rust. Look for a high-scoring, back-and-forth affair. Take the over (8*).
