Kent State was one of the hottest teams in the MAC to finish last season. It sat at 3-6 and the Flashes pulled off a miracle comeback against Buffalo to get to 4-6. After that it was wins against Ball State, Utah State, and this Eastern Michigan squad to finish the year at 7-6. Kent State's been trending the right direction the last couple of years, and Eastern Michigan must replace QB Mike Glass. Lay the points.

This spread looks a little high. Eastern Michigan has been a road warrior, covering spreads on the road dating back several years. The Eagles are now 20-6-1 ATS in their last 27 as a road dog. The Golden Flashes have struggled as a home favorite, covering in just four of the last 14 games. The Eagles have lost several key players, but still have enough to keep this one within a field goal and could win the game outright.

Continuity and experience has always been important in the MAC, as it's a conference that experiences a lot of coaching turnover on an annual basis. In a COVID-impacted 2020 season, it's likely more important than ever. And that's one reason why I'm incredibly high on Ball State in the MAC this season. It has its coaching staff back, and a two-deep chock full of seniors. I like it here against a Miami Ohio team that won the conference last year, but was a bit lucky while doing so.

This total has been falling all day -- all week really -- and it's been falling for a reason. The current forecast for tonight is calling for wind, which always depresses the scoring a bit. Combine that with an Ohio offense that is never shy about taking its time on offense, and playing solid defense, and there's a good chance we won't see many possessions for either team in this game.
