The Miami Dolphins quick rebuild and the Chargers late game ineptitude are two of the most talked about storylines of the NFL. However, I still have the Chargers power rated as the better team.


Despite Miami winning their last two games as underdogs, they were outgained by 2.1 and 1.3 YPP in both those games. Miami is down to journeymen at running back, likely down WR2 Preston Williams, and still has a very questionable offensive line surrounding their young promising quarterback. Despite the fact that Miami has surpassed all of our preseason expectations, this team has been extremely fortunate with defensive and special teams scores over the last two weeks.


The Chargers have not lost a game by more then a touchdown all season, despite having faced teams like the Chiefs, Saints, and Bucs. Justin Herbert has emerged as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL as a rookie. I much rather tease the Chargers up then depend on them to win another close game.


I spoke about the 49ers decimated roster in previous write ups. Kyle Shanahan is a tremendous coach and play caller, but the reality of the situation for the 49ers is that they are short on talent and I anticipate a struggle for them against a team that has just as solid play calling as they do. The 49ers likely can not win with scheme against New Orleans, it's going to have to be on talent.


Don't let Nick Mullens decent stats against Green Bay fool you. This is a bad quarterback who is dependent on his first read being open, the running game working, and game flow going his way. New Orleans offense is finally back at full strength and looked tremendous against Tampa, plus New Orleans is the third best run defense in the NFL in YPA allowed. San Francisco is likely down their top three running backs. I will pay to see Mullens beat a team in the air, and do that likely negative game script.

Analysis: Although the spot is good for Tampa off an embarrassing SNF loss, this is flat out too many points against a super competitive Panthers team that just barely lost to fellow top tier teams in Kansas City and New Orleans.

Teddy Bridgewater remains a cover machine. Teddy is 22-5 ATS as an underdog in his career.

I've said it time and time again: The Titans struggle to cover margin, and that's been the case even against below average teams. The Titans failed to beat the Broncos, Jags, Vikings, Texans, and Bears by more then seven points.. and four of those five games the Titans were in danger of losing. They lost outright as seven point favorites against the Bengals.


Phillip Rivers has been one of the better underdog quarterbacks going back to his time with the Chargers, and the Colts offensive and defensive line has edges in the trenches against Tennessee. The Titans last week were held to 4.1 YPP against Chicago, while the Colts run defense shut down Baltimore's run game last week and is second in the NFL in YPC allowed.


While Baltimore is a team that I think is overvalued by the market, New England is a team that failed to impress me on MNF. Without Stephon Gilmore, the Patriots struggle covering speedy wideouts (enter Hollywood Brown). The Patriots struggled to stop the running game of the Jets, and also struggle to rush the passer. The Ravens offense line woes have been one of the main reasons that the teams offense has taken a step back this year, but the Patriots defensive line can’t come close to exposing that.


Cam newton all season has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL against the blitz, and the Ravens blitz more then any team in the NFL. Newton entered MNF against the Jets with 3.8 air yards per attempt against the blitz, 1.8 lower then any other QB. He played very well against the Jets heavy blitz game plan, but this is a different type of blitzing animal in Baltimore.

I’ve got the Bills 1.5 points better than the Cardinals on a neutral field and for the inconvenience of traveling west, I give the home team almost a full-point advantage. But the total is the area I’m keyed in on. I don’t see either team stopping the other. Arizona started the season with six straight Unders, but its defense will be shredded as it was against Seattle and Miami the last two weeks to send both games Over. Over is the top play here.

Coming off their bye, the Browns are on track to get back guard Wyatt Teller, tight end Austin Hooper and running back Nick Chubb versus Houston. The Texans have beaten the Jaguars twice, but no other team. Houston gave up 417 total yards in its narrow win over Jacksonville last week, allowing rookie QB Jake Luton to lead a late TD drive that would have tied the game had the Jags converted the 2-point conversion. Even assuming Bradley Roby returns to bolster Houston's secondary, the Browns should be able to pound the ball against a Texans' defense allowing 5.1 yards per carry. Lay it.

I expect this line to rise so I'm hopping on it now. There's no way these teams are close to even given the Texans struggled to put away an awful Jaguars team last week, while the Browns' losses came once a unique, weather-dominated game and twice on the road against two of the league's best defenses. The Browns already have the coaching edge and also get the extra week to prepare, and their run game should dominate the Texans up front. You always worry about fading Deshaun Watson when he can have a superb game at any time, but the Browns have enough talent up front to harass him enough in this one and prevent a huge performance.

  I like this AS WELL as the Over on receptions….Rivers has always been a go to TE type QB and Doyle is ruled OUT ….Mo Alie-Cox should be a go tonight as he and Hilton have both practiced…but at worst I think Burton gets 60% of the TE snaps. Top that off with the likelihood Rivers is extra careful tonight with the ball….and the Titans are the second worst defense at allowing TE to score fantasy points….where we utilized fantasy to enable +EV betting tactics…

  As obvious a 5% play as they would have come had the total not SCREEEEEEAMED upward after NO ONE played defense for either team in their most recent matchups….
  And the offense I trusted more before writing this is now the team that hosts and MUST win this game after losing at home the much inferior than Buffalo and Josh Allen…Dolphins and undefeated Tua.
  
  I think 8 TDs is fair…but sure would recommend, if you're squeamish about playing something devolved by an entire TD, to tease this bad boy to 50 or 50.5 and pair it up with Seattle +6 or +6.5 and/or Carolina/Tampa Bay Over 44.5 or 45
