Analysis:
At 12 Noon, our selection is on the Penn State Nittany Lions minus the points over Michigan State. We played on the Nitts last week as our biggest play of the season-to-date, and were rewarded with an easy win over Rutgers. After starting the season 0-5, Penn State's won its last two games, and I look for it to make it three-in-a-row on this Saturday. And it's a perfect situational spot for the Nitts, as Michigan State will be playing its final road game of the season off three straight home games! Since 1980, teams playing their final game of the season on the road have covered just 28% of the time, if they played their three previous games at home, and their opponent was off a point spread win. Even better for Penn State: it's 11-2 ATS in its final home game of the season when priced from -9 to -23 points. The Nittany Lions were a better team than reflected in their 0-5 start, and that was evident last weekend. We'll take Penn State to close out the season strong in Happy Valley. Lay the points. And Wyoming was favored by more than two touchdowns! But off that horrible game, we'll take the Cowboys to bounce back on Saturday as a big home underdog. Indeed, over the last 30 seasons, NCAA home underdogs of more than 7 points, off an upset loss as a favorite of more than 12, have cashed 73%.
