NCAA-B | Furman vs Alabama
Play on: OVER 154 -110
1* CBB - Furman/Alabama *FREE PICK* on OVER 154
This total has gone up a few points since it opened, but I still think we are getting a good price. If you have watched Alabama at all this year or last season, you know this team likes to push the tempo. Last year the Crimson Tide finished 4th in the country in adjusted tempo. They were also 6th in average possession length. This year they are 9th in tempo and 3rd in poss. length.
They did score just 56 last time out against Clemson and only 64 against Stanford earlier in the year, but both those were on a neutral floor against two really good defenses. Cardinal rank 8th in defensive adjusted efficiency and the Tigers are 2nd. In their other 3 games they have scored 80+.
I also think the numbers are down simply cause the Tide haven't made shots so far this season. They are shooting just 40.1% from the field and a dismal 29.1% from deep.
This matchup against Furman will definitely present a pace to eclipse this total. The Paladins will gladly play at Alabama's frantic pace. Furman ranks 27th in avg. poss. length. They are also 55th in adjusted offensive efficiency and 19th in effective FG%.
Furman has played just one team ranked inside the Top 200 and that's Cincinnati. That game saw 151 points and the Bearcats rank 166th in tempo and 236th in avg. poss length. They let Cincinnati shoot 56% from the field.
These two combined for 154 points in a matchup last season and that was with Furman shooting a mere 30.9% from the field. They also got to 154 with a mere 65 points in the 1st half (went off for 89 in the 2nd half). Bet the OVER 154!
