        2-Unit Play. Take #680 Iowa (-6.5) over Purdue (9 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22)

        4-Unit Play. Take #644 Missouri (-10.5) over Bradley (7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22)

        5-Unit Play. Take #668 Alabama (-14.5) over East Tennessee (7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22)

7-Unit Play. Take #673 North Carolina (-1) over North Carolina State (7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22)

I just like the Heels a lot more than I like the Wolfpack in this one. And I will go with size and depth over experience and guard play. I don't know if D.J. Funderburk (COVID) and Cam Hayes (COVID) are going to be available to play tonight. They have both missed N.C. State's last two games. And that makes a world of difference in this play. Without Funderburk the Wolfpack have just one healthy body on the roster that's taller than 6-7. That's not going to work against the monsters that UNC has in the frontcourt. The Heels will pulverize N.C. State on the interior on both ends of the court and that should turn this one into a blowout. N.C. State has two real nice guards in Braxton Beverly and Devon Daniels. But that's not enough to counter the sheer numbers that the Heels can throw at them on the wings. UNC's guards don't have nearly the experience of N.C. State's backcourt. But the talent discrepancy isn't significant. Beyond that, the Wolfpack have played a bunch of cream puffs this year. Their best win came over UMass Lowell and they got run against the only real competition they've faced, losing by 11 at St. Louis. The Tar Heels have already beaten teams better than State, taking out Stanford and Kentucky, and I just see a mismatch when I look at these teams. Even if Funderburk and Hayes can play there's no telling how effective they will be. I'll go with UNC.

5-Unit Play. Take #7052 Boston College (-23) over Maine (Noon, Tuesday, Dec. 22)

        2-Unit Play. 5-POINT TEASER: Take #646 Davidson (-2) over Vanderbilt (7 p.m.) AND Take #7084 UT-San Antonio (-2) over Lamar (7 p.m.)

        1-Unit Play. 5-POINT TEASER: Take #618 Richmond (-7.5) over Hofstra (2 p.m.) and Take #677 West Virginia (+7) over Kansas (9 p.m.)

3-Unit Play: Take 270 Nevada +3.5 over Tulane (3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22) Potato Bowl

Nevada will feel at home playing on the blue carpet in Boise and we have them power rated as the better football team in this spot. The Pack are out-gaining their opponents by nearly 60 yards per game, while Tulane is upside down, allowing 23 yards per game more than they gain. Jay Norvell's name is being mentioned for power five jobs but the Wolf Pack are reportedly behind their HC, 100%. Nevada is all about the pass and QB Carson Strong ought to have a field day against college football's 115th ranked pass defense. We'll take the points with Nevada on Tuesday

                  • Game: (307081) Georgia Southern at (307082) Fla Gulf Coast
                    Date/Time: Dec 22 2020 7:00 PM EST
                    Betting Line Provider: Consensus Line
                    Play Rating: 4%
Play: Fla Gulf Coast +1.0 (-110)

The wrong team is favored in this game as my math model favors Florida Gulf Coast by 1.42 points and the Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last five games versus .601 or greater opposition. Florida Gulf Coast enters year three of its rebuilding process and head coach Michael Fly finally has a deep roster with both experience and talent. Fly added Mississippi transfer Franco Miller, Jr. and Austin Peay graduate transfer Eli Abaev during the offseason and both have paid immediate dividends. Abaev leads the team in rebounds (9.0 per game) while Miller is averaging 7.3 points across 18.8 minutes per game.

Georgia Southern arrives with a terrible defense that is allowing 81.7 points per game on the road this season (51.2% FG%, 51.8% 3-PT%), which is not surprising in light of the fact that first-year head coach Brian Burg had to replace nearly 80 percent of last season's scoring production with the departure of five seniors. The most significant losses were All-Sun Belt Conference third-team guard Ike Smith (14.1 ppg) and All-Sun Belt second-team guard Quan Jackson (13.6 ppg).

Continuity will be an issue early on for the Eagles as Burg has to integrate several Division I transfers, together with multiple junior college signees. With Florida Gulf Coast standing at 28-12 ATS in non-conference affairs and 21-7 ATS after winning four or five of its last six games since 2017, take the Eagles and invest with confidence.
                  • Game: (639) Louisville at (640) Pittsburgh
                    Date/Time: Dec 22 2020 7:00 PM EST
                    Betting Line Provider: Consensus Line
                    Play Rating: 4%
                    Play: Pittsburgh +3.5 (-110)

My math model only favors Louisville by 0.20 points in this game and the Cardinal are a money-burning 0-5 ATS in their last five road games. Optimism abounds in Pittsburgh this season as the Panthers enter the third year under head coach Jeff Capel, who has successfully changed the culture within the program and brought in several excellent recruiting classes.

Capel welcomes back three full-time starters, including Justin Champagnie, who leads the Panthers in both scoring (17.8 ppg) and rebounds (12.3 rpg). The backcourt is anchored by juniors Xavier Johnson, who boasts a team-high 6.0 assists per game, and Au'Diese Toney, who was voted the most improved player in the ACC last season.

Pittsburgh is extremely well-balanced at both ends of the floor, rating 6.2 points per game better than average offensively and 5.7 points per game better than average defensively. Louisville arrives with a roster lacking depth after losing its lone true senior, Malik Williams (foot), to an injury. Graduate transfer Charles Minlend is sidelined with a knee injury while returning sophomore Josh Nickelberry remains out with an injured knee.

With the home team standing at 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in this series and Pittsburgh covering the Vegas number in each of its previous four games, grab the points with the Panthers and invest with confidence.
