I will gladly back the Grizzlies as a small 4.5-point home favorite against the Cavs on Thursday. Memphis is just 2-5 and down 3 of their best players in Morant, Jackson Jr and Winslow, but the guys who are active have shown a lot of fight. Grizzlies more than held their own in two games against the Lakers earlier this week, nearly winning the second matchup.
This however, is more a play against Cleveland than anything. The Cavs are in an absolutely brutal scheduling spot here. This will be Cleveland's fifth straight road game in a span of just 8 days. On top of that, they are going to be playing on no rest after last night's game in Orlando. Combine that with all the guys they got out and I just don't think there's anywhere close to enough gas in the tank for the Cavs to be competitive in this one.
It's also worth noting that the Cavs are 0-9 ATS under Bickerstaff when playing on the road after 4 or more consecutive games finished UNDER the total. Give me the Grizzlies -4.5!

The Cavaliers continue to give a game effort even though about half the team is out because of injuries. Without both Garland and Sexton in the backcourt the pace really slows down. Throw in the fact that Sexton got hurt in the last game, and we could see the only legit scorer being less than full go.
Morant being out has devastated this Memphis offense. The only way for this team to compete is on the defensive end of the court. The line has been bet down for good reason, but it's still too high.

The Cardinal should have no problem winning by double-digits at home against the Huskies. Stanford is 6-3 and there's no shame in their 3 losses, which have all come away from home against the likes of North Carolina, Indiana and Oregon. Washington is not good. The Huskies are 1-7 and it's not like they are losing a bunch of close games. Only 2 of those 7 losses have come by fewer than 14 points. In their last two games they have got absolutely annihilated. They lost by 23 to Colorado on a neutral court and by 27 at home to Arizona. Bet Stanford -9.5!

The Northwestern Wildcats will be highly motivated for a win following two straight road losses to arguably the two best teams in the Big Ten in Iowa and Michigan. Now they come back home here where they already have upset wins over Michigan State 79-65 as 7.5-point dogs and Ohio State 71-70 as 2.5-point dogs.
They host an Illinois team that is starting to get too much respect from oddsmakers off two straight home wins by single-digits over Indiana and Purdue. Illinois has lost two of its last three true road games outright as favorites with an 88-91 loss at Rutgers and a 78-81 loss at Missouri.
Northwestern will also be motivated to end a four-game losing streak to Illinois with the four losses coming by 8, 4, 5 and 5 points. In fact, each of the last six meetings were decided by 8 points or less with five of those by 5 points or fewer. So we are getting some line value here based on series history alone, and this is the best team Northwestern has had in a few years.
The Wildcats are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games. The Fighting Illini are 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games following a SU win. Northwestern is 5-1 at home this season with its only loss coming by a single point to Pittsburgh, 70-71. Bet Northwestern Thursday.

The Cougars (+1) are worth a look at basically a pick'em on the road against the Golden Bears in Thursday's Pac-12 action. Washington State comes into this game 8-1. Their only loss coming in their last game, which they fell 82-86 in OT to a very good Arizona team. Cal is just 5-6 and are winless at 0-4 in conference play. The Golden Bears have lost by 8 to Arizona St, by 20 to UCLA, by 13 to Oregon and by 9 to Oregon State in their 4 Pac-12 matchups. No way should they be favored here. Play Washington State +1!

The Minnesota Timberwolves played a brutal schedule to open the season which has played a big part in their 2-5 record. They have faced the Nuggets twice, Lakers, Clippers and Jazz already. And now they are catching too many points here against the Portland Trail Blazers tonight as a double-digit underdog. The Blazers aren't playing well enough to be double-digit favorites against anyone. Portland is just 3-4 SU & 2-5 ATS this season with two of those three wins coming by a combined 10 points. Their only blowout win came against the Warriors, but they came back and lost to the Warriors by 15. And then they were upset at home by the Bulls as 9.5-point favorites in their last contest. The Blazers are 6-14-1 ATS in their last 21 games against a team with a losing record. Portland is 0-5 ATS in its last five home games. Give me the Timberwolves.

The San Antonio Spurs are coming off an upset win over the LA Clippers here at Staples Center on Tuesday to improve to 6-0 ATS in their last six games as a road underdog. They've stayed in LA to take on the LA Lakers in the same building a couple of days later, and while the Spurs might not win this one outright, I still like them to cover the number.
The Lakers will be playing on no rest following a narrow 94-92 win at Memphis last night. LeBron James (ankle) and Anthony Davis (right adductor strain) are both questionable for this contest, and it would not shock me if Lakers coach Frank Vogel decides to his ailing veteran stars the night off.
Additionally, the Lakers return home from a lengthy road trip and they are only 1-4 ATS in their last five home games following a road trip of seven or more days.
