ANALYSIS: Is the wrong team favored in this good Conference USA matinee? I would argue yes. Sure, the Monarchs have won six straight in this series, but that has little bearing on this year. The Owls are on a four-game home winning streak (just one home loss on the year) and taking those by nearly 12 points per. They are the highest-scoring team in Conference USA, averaging 81.9 points per game. All three of ODU's losses, meanwhile, are on the road and the Monarchs are 2-6 ATS in their past eight away overall. They are a lousy three-point shooting team, hitting just 29.7 percent from deep.

ANALYSIS: We won on the Flyers over the Penguins on Opening Night as Philly was victorious 6-3 at home, and I see no reason not to back them again here at a terrific price. Flyers netminder Carter Hart is simply money at home -- he was 20-3-2 with a miniscule 1.63 GAA and .943 save percentage at home last season. The Flyers overall are 24-9 in their last 33 home games, while Pittsburgh is 2-8 in its past 10 on the road.

The Raiders, the conference's preseason favorites, are coming off a 93-55 thrashing of Youngstown State and lead the Horizon in scoring (80.1) and rebounding margin (9.5). Normally, Wright State's Nutter Center is a tough place to play. But the Raiders are 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games, including two outright losses this season.

ANALYSIS: Being honest, I will lean Under most games when they are listed at 6.5 goals (or the rare time at 7). I get why this total is high as the Leafs are a very good offensive team and scored five goals Wednesday at home in a win over Montreal, while Ottawa was second-to-last in goals allowed last season. However, the Sens (this is their opener) have upgraded in net with an offseason trade for former Penguins Stanley Cup-winning netminder Matt Murray. I still think Ottawa will be below-average offensively this year and thus feel comfortable going Under. I also would lean Ottawa on the puckline.

The 49ers have a scoring margin of just +2.5 on the season, while UAB is at +20.5 with the Blazers' lone loss by 3 to a good Chattanooga team.
