NHL | Devils vs Rangers
Play on: Devils +1½ -179 at pinnacle
Tuesday NHL Free play. My selection is on New Jersey +1.5 goals over New York at 7:05 pm et on Tuesday.
The Devils looked good in collecting three of a possible four points in a season-opening two-game set against the Bruins and I look for them to give the Rangers all they can handle in this matchup on Tuesday night. New York is off to a 1-1 start as well, opening with an ugly shutout loss before bouncing back with a blowout win in consecutive games against the rival Islanders. The reality probably lies somewhere in between those two performances when it comes to the Blueshirts. While this is a game they 'should' win, I'm not convinced we'll see a peak performance at this early stage of the season. Not much is expected of the Devils this season but I think they can be an upstart squad, particularly here in January. We'll grab the insurance goal in this one as I'm expecting a tightly-contested affair. Take New Jersey +1.5 goals (8*).

NCAA-B | Penn State vs Illinois
Play on: Penn State +9 -106 at pinnacle
PICK - Penn State Nittany Lions +9 RATING: 30* ROT#: 633
I will take the near double-digits with the Nittany Lions on the road against the Fighting Illini. This game is being dubbed a must-win for Illinois coming off back-to-back home losses to Maryland and Ohio State. Most are going to assume that's exactly what the Fighting Illini will do against a Penn State team that enters having lost 4 straight and the fact that Illinois already beat the Nittany LIons 98-81 on the road.
I'm not saying they won't win this game, but I believe the situation here has resulted in an inflated number and simply too much value to pass up with Penn State. The Nittany Lions are not a bad team, despite their 3-5 record. They have played the 2nd toughest schedule in the country according to KenPom.
In their other 4 losses aside from that blowout loss at home to Illinois, they have have lost in OT to Seton Hall and Indiana, by just 4 on the road to Michigan and by 8 on the road to Purdue in their last game.
Big thing to note with the game against the Boilermakers is that was their first game in more than two weeks, as they were off from Dec. 31st up into that game on Jan. 17th. They were definitely rusty in that first game back. They should be in a much better rhythm in this one. Not to mention I'm expecting a fired up Nittany Lions team playing with revenge as well as a lack of respect as a big dog. Give me Penn State +9!

We'll get a big effort from the Illinois Fighting Illini after two straight upset losses to Maryland and Ohio State. They had gone 4-0 SU & 4-0 ATS in their previous four games with four straight wins by 8 points or more. That includes their 98-81 win at Penn State on December 23rd. Now the Fighting Illini get to face the Nittany Lions again tonight and should come close to scoring 100 points against one of the worst defensive teams in the Big Ten. The Nittany Lions are 0-4 in their last four games overall and have allowed 80-plus points in three straight. Penn State is 4-10 ATS in its last 14 games overall. The Fighting Illini are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games off a loss. Take Illinois.

NCAA-B | Alabama vs LSU
Play on: Alabama -1 -101 at pinnacle
Dave's Tuesday Free Play:
1* on Alabama -1 The Key: The Alabama Crimson Tide are playing as well as anyone in the SEC right now. They are 7-0 SU & 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games overall and want to keep this winning streak alive. They are not only winning, they are dominating as those 7 wins have come by an average of 16 PPG. That includes a 31-point win over Arkansas, a 20-point win over Kentucky, an 18-point win over Ole Miss and a 15-point win over Florida. LSU is 10-2 this season but has faced a much easier schedule than Alabama has. And their last lost came to that same Florida team that Alabama just beat by 15. The Tigers are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games off a conference win. Take Alabama.

NCAA-B | Seton Hall vs Villanova
Play on: Seton Hall +9 -110 at Mirage
#637 ASA FREE PLAY ON Seton Hall +9 over Villanova, Tuesday at 9 PM ET - Due to covid issues Villanova hasn’t played a game in almost a month. The last time they took the court to face an opponent was before Christmas on December 23rd. It’s not like they’ve had a normal practice schedule during this hiatus either due to their covid outbreak. The Cats are 3-0 in league play but have also faced the weakest schedule in the conference thus far including the 2 lowest rated teams in the Big East (Georgetown & Butler). The Pirates are 9-5 on the season (6-2 in the Big East) having already beaten 6 teams ranked inside the top 100. Their lone poor outing in conference play was vs Creighton. Despite Villanova being the class of the Big East the last 5+ seasons, Seton Hall has played them very tough. Over the Pirates last 4 meetings with the Wildcats they are 2-2 SU with none of those 4 games being decided by more than 6 points. Bad spot for Nova and we’ll take the points.

NCAA-B | Seton Hall vs Villanova
Play on: Seton Hall +9½ -107 at pinnacle
I really like Seton Hall here tonight in this spot against Nova. Seton Hall is playing well winning and covering 4 of their last 5 with the only loss being @ Creighton who is obviously very good. The main reason here though is simple and that's because Villanova hasn't played in nearly a month! I just think that is hard on a team to sit this long and first game back expect them to pick up right where they left off.

Jack's Free Pick Tuesday: Seton Hall +9
The Villanova Wildcats have been off since December 23rd due to COVID-19. They have had to pause basketball activities three different times. They finally returned to practice on Thursday and had just eight players available.
I can't imagine the Wildcats are going to be hitting on all cylinders in their first game back here nearly a month later. They now take on a very good Seton Hall team that has gone 8-2 SU & 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games overall.
This has been a very closely-contested series over the past couple seasons. Each of the last four meetings have been decided by 6 points or fewer. Asking Villanova to win by double-digits to beat us after such a long layoff is asking too much.
The Pirates are 47-21 ATS in their last 68 games as underdogs. The underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings. Villanova is 1-7 ATS in its last eight home games. Bet Seton Hall Tuesday.

NBA | Thunder vs Nuggets
Play on: Thunder +10 -110 at BetCris
The Thunder have had issues popping from downtown this season averaging just 33% from beyond the arc, but considering the Nuggets are ranked 29th in 3 point D, Im betting on the Thunder doing more damage than usual from long range and finding a way to cover.
The Thunder are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400 in and overall are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games.Thunder are also 10-3 ATS in their last 13 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and own a money making 22-7 ATS record in their last 29 games as a road underdog. Meanwhile, the Nuggets are 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 games overall and just 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games as a home favorite.
OKLAHOMA CITY is 22-10 ATS in road games versus explosive offensive teams - scoring 110+ points/game over the last 2 seasons
NBA Underdogs of 10 or more points (OKLAHOMA CITY) - good offensive team - scoring 99+ points/game on the season, after trailing their last 3 games by 5+ points at the half are 68-34 ATS L/24 seasons for a 67% conversion rate for bettors.
NBA Home favorites of 10 or more points (DENVER) - after failing to cover 4 or 5 of their last 6 against the spread, with a winning percentage of between 45-55% on the season are 74-123 ATS L/24 seasons for a go against conversion rate of 63% for bettors.

NBA | Pelicans vs Jazz
Play on: Pelicans +6 -109 at pinnacle
Pelicans vs Jazz Free Pick January 19, 2021
The Pels and the Jazz will clash twice in the next three days, starting with this Thursday night matchup. Utah has won five straight games SU and ATS while New Orleans just snapped a four-game SU and ATS slide with a 128-123 win at Sacramento. It's only a matter of time before Utah cools off, and the Pels can be a pesky outfit to face.
The Jazz are 6-14-2 ATS in their last 22 home games and I think they're overvalued by the oddsmakers once again in this one. Free Pick on New Orleans Pelicans.

NHL | Avalanche vs Kings
Play on: UNDER 6 -124
The set-up: As primarily a situational handicapper, this NHL season is definitely shaping up to be an interesting one, because "motivation" really does come into play on an almost nightly basis when teams are seeing each other at least twice in a row (Montreal is actually going to be playing three straight in Vancouver this week.) But in this case, from a situational stand point, I think this one definitely sets up as a lower-scoring contest between the Avalanche and Kings. These teams will play two straight in LA, with the next game coming on Thursday night. The Kings have opened up the season 0-2, but it certainly hasn't been from a lack of trying, as they're off consecutive 4-3 overtime losses at home to Minnesota. Both totals flew well over the posted number of 5.5, but now the Kings are desperate here as they look to finally break into the winners circle. LA will be ultra focussed too facing the Avalanche, who are 1-1 after losing 4-1 to the Blues at home on Opening night, before then bouncing back for that crazy 8-0 win over St. Louis in the second.
The pick: There's usually only a handful of completely lop-sided games like that per season, and I don't foresee the Avalanche repeating that offensive outburst two times in a row. It's interesting to note as well that Colorado has seen the total go under the number in eight of its last 11 road games after scoring six or more goals in a win in its last outing. And it doesn't matter to me who gets the start in net in this one, whether its the starters or the backups, this for me is based upon the situation and the strong trend I listed. So while each team has played to some higher-scoring affairs to open up the year, everything points to a lower-scoring contest here in my opinion in the opener of this two game set.
The is a 1* FREE PLAY on the UNDER Avs/Kings.
