    COLORADO @ LOS ANGELES | 01/19 | 10:00 PM EST
    COLORADO -225
ANALYSIS: My model says the Avalanche win in almost 80 percent of simulations, so you're getting excellent value at this number. After scoring just once in its season opener, Colorado erupted for eight goals en route to a shutout victory over St. Louis on Friday. The Kings, meanwhile, have begun the campaign by dropping back-to-back 4-3 overtime decisions at home to Minnesota. Take the Avalanche.

ANALYSIS: My model says the Thunder cover in well over 60 percent of simulations, so you're getting strong value at this number. Oklahoma City is kicking off a five-game road trip after edging Chicago in overtime at home on Friday. The Thunder went 4-1 on a five-game trek at the beginning of the month, winning four of the contests by double digits. The Nuggets are just 3-5 at home and have lost two of the last three. Take the Thunder.

      ALABAMA +1
Alabama has won all three of its SEC road games: at Tennessee, Auburn and Kentucky. The Crimson Tide are off to a 6-0 conference start and just demolished Arkansas 90-59 on Saturday. LSU, one game behind Alabama in the SEC standings, is just as lethal offensively but much weaker defensively. Back the Tide to cover their eighth straight.

Leicester vs. Chelsea picks (Tuesday, 3:15 p.m. ET)

        Leicester draw no bet (+125)
        Under 2.5 goals (-105)

The Leicester City players should be surging with confidence as they prepare to host Chelsea at the King Power on Tuesday.

The Foxes climbed to second in the Premier League standings by recording a dominant 2-0 victory over a strong Southampton side on Saturday. James Maddison thundered in the opening goal and Harvey Barnes wrapped up the victory by finishing off a rapid break deep into injury time.

That result extended Leicester's unbeaten streak in the Premier League to five games. It has beaten Tottenham, Newcastle and Southampton while drawing with Manchester United and Crystal Palace. It also thumped Stoke 4-0 in the FA Cup.

The Foxes bid for the title now faces a stern test against an expensively assembled Chelsea team.

        Chelsea Struggles for Consistency

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard bought himself a modicum of breathing room by leading his team to a narrow 1-0 win against local rival Fulham on Saturday. It was an unconvincing performance, as Fulham had a man sent off at halftime, but his players managed to get the job done.

That ended a run of three Premier League games without a victory for the Blues. Chelsea looked like a genuine title contender at the start of December, but results then went south. It lost to Everton, Wolves and Arsenal that month, then suffered a 3-1 setback against Manchester City on Jan. 3.

Lampard is feeling the heat. Owner Roman Abramovich bankrolled a lavish summer spending spree, and he will demand a return on his investment. He is fond of Lampard, who starred in Chelsea's midfield for many years, but he still will bring down the axe if the team continues to underwhelm.

New arrivals like Timo Werner and Kai Havertz have struggled to justify their exorbitant price tags, leaving Lampard reliant on homegrown stars such as Mason Mount. He scored the only goal in Chelsea's win against Fulham and will be crucial in this match.

Head-to-Head Records Point to Low-Scoring Game

Chelsea will be facing a strong, disciplined and determined Leicester team on Tuesday. Wilfred Ndidi is superb in the midfield, allowing Youri Tielemans and Maddison to dictate the pace of play. Jamie Vardy is a menace up front and Barnes is growing increasingly composed in front of the goal.

Leicester has the quality to cause Chelsea's defense problems on the break in this match, and it should not be intimidated by the Blues' attacking options. It has not lost in its last five league games against Chelsea, winning once while settling for four draws in that span.

Four of the last five meetings between these teams have seen fewer than three goals, so this is unlikely to be a high-scoring affair. Leicester is adept at absorbing pressure and then charging up the field in a bid for a smash-and-grab winner under manager Brendan Rodgers, so it should be patient in this game, and it has enough quality to get a result.

            N.Y. RANGERS -145
It's the first NHL matchup between the past two No. 1 overall picks in the draft in the Devils' Jack Hughes (2019) and Rangers' Alexis Lafreniere (2020). The former is looking for his first point with the Rangers splitting shutouts in their first two games with the Islanders. It's the first road game for New Jersey, which split two at home vs. Boston last week. The Devils remain without another former No. 1 overall pick in Nico Hischier (2017) due to a leg injury. The home team has won 15 of the past 20 in the series and should again Tuesday.

The Gamecocks opened SEC play with two very respectable performances, both covers. They beat Texas A&M by 24 at home and fell by just five points at LSU. Look for senior guard A.J. Lawson (77 points the past three games) to have another big game as South Carolina keeps it close.

                    Rob V: Tuesday Comp Play

Tuesday card has the NCAAB PAC 12 Game of the Year headlining along with a Triple System NHL Play, Soccer and a top level 5* NBA Play. Comp play below.

The NBA Comp play is on the New Orleans Pelicans at 9:05 eastern. The Pelicans are a live dog here tonight and Utah fits into a play against system as home favorites off a road favored win and cover at -4 or less vs a team that also covered as a road favorite and scored 120 or more only cover 20% of the time. The Jazz were a nice winner for us on Sunday as they exacted revenge on a Denver team that came back from a 3-1 deficit to knock out the Jazz. So this is a potential flat spot here and the Jazz are just 1-4 ats as a home favorite. So we will Play on the Pelicans. Rob V- GC Sports

ANALYSIS: These two teams faced off yesterday at noon and there was a total of five goals scored. One of the goals was a 6 v 5 goalie pulled goal. Neither of these teams score a ton and they should have weary legs with a back to back early in the season. I like this game to stay under.

The Caps looked completely disjointed and were still able to come away with a point that game. I expect them to clean up some things and get the win. The Caps should be favored in this matchup.

The Wildcats have sat idle since Dec. 23 and has weathered three COVID-19 caused halts to the schedule. Upon resuming practice last Thursday, only eight players were available. Three might be inactive for this game. The Pirates have stormed to eight wins in the last 10 outings, seven of them covers. LONGWOOD PK
ANALYSIS: Is it a benefit for one school to have played almost all of its scheduled games compared to another that's coming off a COVID pause? I think so. High Point (coached by Tubby Smith) hasn't played since New Year's Eve or on the road since Dec. 22. The Panthers are 1-5 away. Longwood is a good defensive club, surrendering 70 points or fewer in seven of 10 conference games. Only one school all season has hit better than 40 percent from deep against the Lancers. They have won the past five in this series.
