ANALYSIS: I don't love this game but as I am currently the top-ranked NHL handicapper on the site and it's the lone game of Friday, we have to pick it. I have done well betting against the Hawks this season, but that was on the road, where they are winless. Chicago is 2-0 at home, but both wins were over a bad Detroit side. The Hawks remain without three key guys on the COVID list in forwards Alex DeBrincat and Lucas Wallmark and defenseman Adam Boqvist (plus Jonathan Toews for other reasons). That's a combined 12 points for a team that struggles to score. Columbus is in the second of a B2B but used its backup netminder in Thursday's win over Florida. It should be Joonas Korpisalo (2.44 GAA, .928 SV) in this one, and he's better than anyone Chicago has in net. The Hawks are 1-10 in their past 11 as underdogs.

ANALYSIS: Obviously a risk in these COVID days to pick a game this early, but it sometimes can work in your favor. For example, I picked Houston at -2.5 over Portland late Wednesday for Thursday's game, and by the time it tipped off the Rockets were -4.5. They won by 3. Had I waited, that would have been an ATS loss instead of a win. Happen to think this spread will rise, too, due to very heavy early action on the Pacers. I also took Indiana at -2 in Charlotte on Wednesday and the Pacers won 116-106. Hard to see why there won't be a similar result here. Indiana has the East's best road record at 5-2, while the Hornets have dropped their past three at home. The Pacers are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games as road favorites.

ANALYSIS: These two teams have played each other twice already, splitting those two meetings. However, the Cavaliers are an improved team now with Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince in the fold. They have won three of five games since those two joined the team, defeating the Nets in two of those three contests. Their two losses came against tough teams in the Celtics and Lakers. Despite the Knicks showing improvement under new coach Tom Thibodeau, they are still 3-8 over their last 11 games. This is a tough matchup for them to try and turn things around.

ANALYSIS: The Wizards are set to get some reinforcements for this game with Rui Hachimura, Davis Bertans and Moritz Wagner all having been cleared from the league’s health and safety protocols. However, none of them have played in nearly three weeks, so they could be rusty and/or play limited minutes. Since the Wizards have resumed play, they have lost all three games by at least 18 points each. Even with Washington's improved depth chart, I like the Hawks to extend the Wizards' losing streak and cover along the way.
