Liverpool vs. West Ham picks (Sunday, 11:30 a.m. ET)

Both teams to score at -135
                Over 2.5 goals -135

                Liverpool to win at -130
West Ham will host a resurgent Liverpool team in an eagerly anticipated Premier League clash at the London Stadium on Sunday.

Liverpool snapped a streak of five league games without a win when it beat Tottenham 3-1 on Thursday. That saw it climb up to fourth in the Premier League table, just four points behind leader Manchester City. However, it came at a huge cost, as Joel Matip suffered a serious ankle injury in the process.

Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez are out with long-term injuries, leaving Matip as Liverpool's only healthy senior central defender. He has now joined them on the treatment table, leaving the Reds with a gaping hole in defense.

That could spell good news for West Ham, which has been superb in attack over the past few weeks. Liverpool will be forced to put together a makeshift defense featuring midfielders and rookies, which should give the Hammers a strong chance of scoring in this game.

                Liverpool Bosses Head-to-Heads

Liverpool beat West Ham home and away last season. It picked up a 2-0 win at the London Stadium, and then beat the Hammers 3-2 at Anfield in February. Liverpool went on to win its first ever Premier League title, finishing 18 points clear of second-placed Man City and 60 points ahead of West Ham.

However, the Hammers are made of sterner stuff this season, while Liverpool has regressed as a result of its injury problems. West Ham is currently just two points behind Liverpool in the Premier League table after winning its last four games. It is unbeaten in its last eight matches, and manager David Moyes deserves a great deal of credit for turning around the club's fortunes.

He moved on underperforming players like Felipe Anderson and Sebastian Haller, and replaced them with hard-working players that fight for every ball. The results have been seriously impressive. West Ham has 10 wins from 20 games so far this season, an identical number to Liverpool.

                Antonio Could Expose Makeshift Defense

The Reds beat West Ham 2-1 at Anfield on October 31, but it was a difficult game for Jurgen Klopp's team. Pablo Fornals put the Hammers 1-0 up after 10 minutes, but Mohamed Salah equalized just before half-time, and a late goal from Diogo Jota handed Liverpool a narrow victory.

Jota is another key player missing through injury, so Klopp will once again be forced to rely on Salah, Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino on Sunday. That attacking triumvirate has underperformed in recent weeks, but Mané and Firmini both scored in that 3-1 win against Tottenham on Thursday.

That should boost their confidence levels, and Liverpool certainly has the quality to get on the score sheet in this game. Yet West Ham striker Michail Antonio should also cause plenty of problem's for Liverpool's makeshift defense. West Ham has scored in 17 out of 20 games so far this season, and Liverpool has scored in 16 of its 20 matches, so both teams to score looks likely to pay off on Sunday.

There are lots of reasons to side with West Ham in this game. It has had an extra two days of rest since its last game, it has fewer injury problems, it is on home turf, and it is on a long unbeaten streak. However, you rarely find such appealing odds on Liverpool winning a Premier League game. It has not lost to West Ham since 2016, and it should prevail on Sunday if Salah, Firmino and Mané play to their full potential.

Keep fading Minnesota. The Timberwolves have lost seven of eight and 12 of 14, and the average margin of defeat in their 14 losses this season is 15.9. When they lose, they lose big. My model says the Cavs cover more than 70 percent of the time and win by 12 so you're getting strong value with Cleveland at this number.

ANALYSIS: The Ramblers have won six straight, going 5-0-1 ATS, but should they be laying so many points at Missouri State? The Bears didn't cover in either loss to Drake, but they put up a heckuva fight. At home, Missouri State is outscoring opponents by 11.4 points per game even after the doubleheader with Drake. Grab the points and look for the underdog to improve to 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings.

ANALYSIS: The Cougars were up 44-14 in their last game, versus Tulane, until they let up in the second half. Now they're getting leading scorer Quentin Grimes back in the lineup. SMU has lost three of its last six, going 2-4 ATS in that span. One of those losses was a 14-point home defeat to Houston. With Houston's unbelievable depth and lockdown defense, I'll lay the points.

ANALYSIS: Drake puts its unbeaten mark, both straight-up and against the spread, on the line Sunday against Illinois State, which is 2-7 in MVC play. The home team has covered five straight in this series, and the Bulldogs are more than capable of a blowout after two tough wins at Missouri State. Lay it.

                      CLEVELAND -3.5
ANALYSIS: Except for Darius Garland, the Cavaliers shot terribly against the Knicks' stingy defense. Things should be much easier versus Minnesota, which ranks fourth-worst in defensive efficiency. Back Cleveland to cover for the sixth time in its last seven visits to Minnesota.

ANALYSIS: The Timberwolves are in a freefall, as they've lost seven of their last eight games. Karl-Anthony Towns (COVID-19) remains out, which could allow Andre Drummond and Jarrett Allen to feast in the paint. This also is the healthiest the Cavaliers have been in a while, so look for them to take advantage and dispatch Minnesota with ease.
