ANALYSIS: No. 3 Villanova is an excellent team and the only club in the Big East without a league loss, but this spread is about 50 percent too high, and I actually think the Johnnies can pull the upset. Mike Anderson's club has won four straight and three of those were away. Posh Alexander has been arguably the best freshman in the conference for a few weeks, and the Red Storm may get back guard Greg Williams Jr. (10.9 ppg) from an injury as he nearly played in Sunday's win at Marquette. This game isn't at Madison Square Garden but at Carnesecca Arena on campus in Queens, which I think does help St. John's a bit. Villanova hasn't played there since Jan. 8, 1994.

ANALYSIS: I absolutely believe Tulsa can win this game so will gladly take the field goal. The Mustangs are expected to be without Coach Tim Jankovich (COVID) and key reserve Darius McNeill (injury) again. They were embarrassed Sunday at Houston, 70-48. Tulsa, meanwhile, is 5-1 at home (4-1 ATS) with quality wins there over Houston and Memphis. SMU has covered just one of its past eight overall, while the Golden Hurricane are an excellent 20-6 ATS in their past 26 as home dogs.

ANALYSIS: Currently, Tampa Bay is -330 on the moneyline, which is the biggest number we've seen in the early season and there won't be many bigger all year with clubs only playing inside their division. I won't take the easy way out and just bet the Bolts at -330. I usually don't give 1.5 goals because then you lose if the game goes into OT, but I don't see the Red Wings hanging within one goal in regulation still missing a handful of guys on the COVID list (a few will be back Wednesday, but they can't be in great condition yet) and without No. 1 netminder Jonathan Bernier. If the Bolts were going with their backup goaltender, I'd probably take Detroit at +1.5, but all signs point to Andrei Vasilevskiy again.

Saint Louis awakened from hibernation for its first test of 2021 last week but suffered a five-point loss to Dayton at home despite being favored by nine. Then came yet another postponement, which brings the rusty Billikens to Philadelphia for only their second road game of the season. The Explorers are 4-3 at home and boast impressive wins over Richmond and Dayton. A line movement from 10.5 heightens the value.
