This feels like the right price and spot to back the Jayhawks at home. Kansas has had a rough go of it with 5 losses in their last 7, but one look at the schedule and you can see why they have been struggling. All 5 losses have come on the road to teams ranked in the Top 35 with 4 of them in the Top 20.
One of those was a 70-75 loss at Oklahoma State back on Jan. 12. I'm confident the Jayhawks get their revenge. Kansas is 31-16 ATS last 47 after failing to cover 6/7 of their last 8 games. They are also 22-9 ATS in their last 31 off a road loss by 10 or more and a perfect 9-0 ATS at home after playing a game as a road dog. Give me Kansas -5.5!

Monday NBA Free play. My selection is on the 'under' between Oklahoma City and Los Angeles at 10:05 pm et on Monday.
I'll back the 'under' as the Thunder and Lakers do battle in the first of a two-game set in Los Angeles on Monday night. Note that the Lakers rank tops in the league in defensive efficiency this season. While Oklahoma City ranks a less than impressive 19th in that category, it actually sits in top spot over its last three contests and a respectable seventh in the NBA on the road this season. Following an abnormally high-scoring affair by Thunder standards against the T'Wolves last time out (238 total points), I look for the scoring to settle down here. Note that the Thunder rank a woeful 26th in the league in floor percentage over their last three contests. I'm just not convinced the Lakers will lay the hammer down here, however, helping us to a lower-scoring game than anticipated. Take the under (8*).

Gonzaga was 31-2 when last season was shut down and finished second in the AP's final poll, behind No. 1 Kansas (28-3). However, Gonzaga/s was the AP's No.1-ranked team in its preseason poll and opened the 2020-21 season with a neutral-site meeting with Kansas (No. 6). The Bulldogs won that game 102-90 and have NEVER looked back. The new AP poll will be released later today and 18-0 Gonzaga (9-0 in the WCC) will surely maintain its no. 1 ranking for the 12th straight poll. The season hasn't gone as well for Kansas, as the Jayhawks are just 12-7 (6-5 in the Big 12) and will just as surely fall from the rankings in the new AP poll, ending a 231-week streak. Taking over with the most consecutive AP ranking will be Gonzaga, as the Bulldogs will reach 90 straight weeks!
Scoreboard watchers had to do a "double-take" when Pacific led Gonzaga 32-31 at halftime last Thursday, just 12 days after losing by 46 points to the Zags. However, Bulldogs 'restored order' with a 76-58 victory, extending the nation's longest-active winning streak to 22 in a row. Gonzaga leads the nation in scoring (93.3 PPG) and in FG percentage (51.5) and visits Provo having and have recorded 15 straight double-digit victories! The BYU Cougars are 15-4 (6-2 in the WCC) and own the distinction of being the last team to beat Gonzaga. The date was Feb 22, 2020, the site was the same as tonight's venue (Marriott Center) and the final score was BYU 91 and Gonzaga 78.BYU shot 53.2% from the floor (11 of 27 on threes), while Gonzaga shot 41.7% (5 of 25 on threes).
Gonzaga did avenge that loss 86-69 at home back on Jan 7 of this season but the Bulldogs just may have a tougher time here in Provo. Gonzaga is led by the 6-7 Kispert (19.9 & 4.9) and the 6-10 Timme (18.8 & 6.8) plus guards Suggs (13.8-5.5-4.4), Ayayi (11.7-7.3-3.4), Nembhard (8.9 & 4.6 APG) and Watson (7.8 & 4.3) round out quite an impressive six-man rotation. BYU has an excellent guard duo in Barcello (15.2-4.6-4.6) and Averette (11.3) plus the 7-3 Haarms (11.5 & 4.5) is joined up front by starters like the 6-8 Lohner (5.9 & 6.5) and the 6-6 George (5.3 & 5.3). The 6-11 Harward (7.5 & 5.2) comes off the bench plus four more guards get double digits in minutes to combine for 20.5 PPG.
ONE of these days Gonzaga will be 'taken to the wire,' so why not tonight? Take the home dog.
