Out of all European leagues, you would be hard pressed to find a team playing better than Man City right now. They look amazing. They are coming in off a 3-0 beatdown of Tottenham this past weekend in a game that was never in doubt. Even without the best midfielder on the planet in Kevin De Bruyne, Man City has now rallied off 16 straight wins and are unbeaten since November 21, a run of 23 straight games without a loss.
During their 16 game run, they have allowed a total of just 5 goals, never more than one, and have kept 11 clean sheets. Their run includes multiple goal wins over Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Liverpool and Tottenham, simply proving their dominance over the best teams in the league.
They have the best xG differential in Europe and lead the Premier League with a +1.41 xG differential per game, nearly double the next best team in the league which is Chelsea at +0.73.
Everton, after a hot start to the season have really been tumbling as of late. They have just two wins in their last seven league games including inexcusably losing at home 0-2 on Sunday to Fulham. They also have losses to Newcastle twice this season, Southampton and Leeds. More telling, their xG numbers are not attractive with a -0.07 differential per game and have lost five straight games to Man City.

1* Over Dortmund/Sevilla (3:00 ET): Both these sides went 4-1-1 in Group play. But Dortmund was actually the more impressive of the two, scoring 12 goals while conceding only five. Sevilla, the regining Europa League Champs, scored nine and conceded eight. However, comparing their respective domestic form of these two sides, you would have to lean heavily towards Sevilla. Heading into this first leg of the knockout round, Sevilla has won nine straight across all competitions and kept an amazing seven straight clean sheats. But they were certainly a bit fortunate to win their fifth straight in La Liga on Saturday as goalkeeper Bono made two incredible saves to preserve a 1-0 win over bottom of the table Huesca. This unbelievable streak of allowing zero goals has to come to an end eventually and I think it will Wednesday. Dortmund has already lost eight matches in the Bundesliga season, which is hugely disappointing. So too was a 2-2 draw with Hoffenheim on Saturday. Rough end to their just completed 4 game road swing, as Philadelphia lost their final 3 games at Portland, Phoenix and Utah and also lost the services of big man Joel Embiid to recurring back spasms on Monday at Utah in their 134-123 setback.

Embiid has been upgraded to probable for tonight's game, while key reserve Shake Milton is out with an ankle injury, but Philly is back at home for this one where they are 11-2 straight up and 9-4 against the spread thus far this year.

As for Houston, they are in even rougher straits as far as injuries go, as Victor Oladipo, Christian Wood, Eric Gordon and P.J. Tucker are all out with injuries and the Rockets bring in a 6 game straight up and against the spread losing streak for this showdown with Philly.

This will be the first meeting between the teams since last August when they played in the Orlando bubble and the Sixers demolished the Rockets, 134-96.

It may not be a 38 point destruction tonight, but I say Philly gets back on track with a comfortable home win and cover.

The Boston Celtics have a problem! The C's enter this home game with Atlanta off a much-needed victory last night at home against Denver.

Even with that win, Brad Stevens' team has lost 2 of their last 3 and 4 of their last 6 overall. An uneven offense has been an issue, as the Celtics are only averaging 98 points per game in those 4 losses.

They were able to score 112 points last night, but I have a feeling they may be able to rediscover their AWOL offense as they play host to the yielding Hawks.

Atlanta comes into this game having given up at least 118 points in each of their last 5 games. All 5 of those game have played Over the total, as the Hawks are now on a 6-1 Over run their last 7 games played, while the Celtics have landed Over in 4 of their last 7 games played.

This will be the first meeting of year between the teams and 6 of the last 10 in this rivalry have played Over the total.

With the Hawks eschewing defense lately, expect the Celtics offense to get back on track in this spot tonight.
