ANALYSIS: Depleted Drake beat the Braves on Friday by nine. But, owing to the absence of F ShanQuan Hemphill (14.1 points per game) and PG Roman Penn (11.2 points, 5.5 assists per game) with foot injuries, the Bulldogs’ lineup has little time to recover from an exhausting night. Two starters played all 40 minutes, another 39 and the remaining two 35. Only two subs saw action for a combined 11 minutes. The Braves better distributed their minutes and are positioned to cover.

My math model favors Florida by 0.54 points in this game and the Wildcats are a money-burning 1-7 ATS in their last eight home games and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven games as favorites. Florida's biggest advantage in this game is at the defensive end of the floor where the Gators are allowing 70.1 points per game (42.0% FG%, 31.3% 3-PT%) to teams that would combine to average 75.2 points per game against a mediocre defense. The Gators have been outstanding defensively in SEC action this season, allowing just 0.99 points per possession. Kentucky is averaging just 1.01 points per possession in conference play and ranks last in the SEC at scoring inside the arc at 43.7%.
Florida is 6-4 SU on the road this season where it's averaging 78.3 points per game on 47.5% shooting from the field. The Gators' attack has been extremely efficient down low where they are shooting 52.2% from two-point range and 64.1% on attempts at the rim according to Hoop-Math. Finally, in what could be a competitive affair, the Gators are shooting 75.1% from the foul line. North Carolina enters off an incredibly sloppy 83-70 upset loss to Marquette as 9.5-point favorites, which is significant in that head coach Roy Williams is a profitable 66-45-3 ATS following a loss since 2005, covering the point spread by over two points per game in those contests. North Carolina is one of the few teams in the nation that has the size to give the Seminoles trouble. Indeed, the Tar Heels are ranked 4th in the country in rebounds per game (42.5).
Moreover, Florida State's frontcourt depth could be at issue this afternoon as forward Malik Osborne is questionable with an ankle injury, and center Tanor Ngom is dealing with a nagging injury. Let's also note that guard M.J. Walker, who is averaging 13.1 points per game, is questionable for today's game. Finally, my math model only favors Florida State by 1.31 points in this game so I'll gladly back the desperate home underdog in this conference clash. Look for North Carolina to improve to 9-1 on its home floor this season (home team is 3-1-1 ATS L/5 in series) - grab the points and invest with confidence.

ANALYSIS: Two of the better cover teams in the nation square off with Belmont (17-7-1 ATS) at Morehead State (16-8 ATS) with only two games separating them in the competitive Ohio Valley. The other great ATS team in the OVC, Eastern Kentucky, beat Belmont 81-67 on Thursday. It was Belmont's second loss of the season. The Bruins are pissed. They’re going back to the basics, and I feel sorry for the beat down Morehead is going to get today. Belmont to cover.

Alabama is the far better team here, ranking first in the conference in defensive points per possession and second in offensive points per possession. The Crimson Tide has a points per possession net rating of 16. Mississippi State's offense is 13th and the defense is very good at third, but the Bulldogs have a net rating of 0.8 on points per possession.
