My eyes perk up whenever I see Eastern Illinois in a favorite's role. The Panthers are 1-10 ATS in that role this season. They also have failed to cover five of their last six home games. Southeast Missouri State has picked up its game going 2-1 SU and ATS in its last three games. During this span, the Redhawks upset Austin Peay and Eastern Kentucky by 22 points. Then there is the first meeting between Southeast Missouri State and Eastern Illinois. The Redhawks were 3-point home favorites on Jan. 30. Final score: Southeast Missouri State 75, Eastern Illinois 44. Case closed.

This is a big game in the Mountain West tonight. I think SDSU is getting way too much respect here by odds makers. SDSU is 11-2 at home this season but just 6-6 ATS. I just really love what Boise St did to Utah St in back to back games. I just think this is too many for a game that I see going either way.

The Colorado Buffaloes have played their last four games on the road and will be very happy to be back home tonight. They still have a shot to win the Pac-12 and catch USC, but they must beat the Trojans tonight to stay alive. Look for them to be highly motivated for a win because of it.
The Buffaloes have had one of the biggest home/road splits in college basketball for years. That has been the case again this season as they are 8-1 at home this season and outscoring opponents by an average of 18.7 points per game. They are just 6-6 in true road games, but one of those road wins came at USC 72-62 in their first meeting this season.
USC comes in overvalued off its 72-58 win over Oregon in which the Trojans made 10-of-21 from 3-point range. They played that game without their best player in Evan Mobley (16.8 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 3.0 BPG) and were still able to win because they shot so well from deep. Oregon also had an off night offensively shooting just 40% for the game while making only five free throws.
Mobley is questionable to play tonight, and don't be surprised to see the Trojans sit him again as this will be their 4th game in 9 days. It will be just the 4th game in 12 days for the Buffaloes. Colorado owns USC in going 5-0 SU & 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings. The Buffaloes are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games as home favorites. Bet Colorado Thursday.

The Bengals have played one of the easiest schedules in the entire country. They are 12-7 on the season and have played a grand total of 2 teams ranked inside the top 200 the entire season. They lost both of those games vs Utah & Santa Clara by double digits. Five of their seven losses have come vs teams ranked outside the top 200. When it comes to strict power rankings, Montana (ranked 194) will be the 3rd highest rated team Idaho State has faced this season. In Big Sky play the Bengals have played the easiest schedule thus far. They have yet to face any of the top 4 teams (power rating) in the conference this season until tonight when the take on Montana (4th rated team in the Big Sky). They have played a grand total of 4 games since January 29th and those opponents were George Fox (not a person, a university believe it or not), Northwest (no not Northwestern) and Idaho twice (ranked 355th out of 356 teams). Talk about taking a huge step up in competition tonight. Montana is hungry for a win after losing 3 of their last 4 games. However all 4 of those games were vs Eastern Washington & Weber State (the top 2 teams in the conference) so while Idaho State is taking a big step up, Montana is stepping way down in competition. Idaho State has some solid defensive numbers in conference play but again we must consider the competition. They have not played a team ranked in the top half of the Big Sky in offensive efficiency this season. Montana ranks 4th in the conference in offensive efficiency, 2nd in 3-point % and they make 81% of their FT’s so this will be the best offense the Bengals have faced. The Grizzlies have won 19 straight in this series and the opening number in this one (Montana -3) is the lowest spread in this series for Montana number since the 2013/14 season. Lay this small number.

Northwestern opened the current season 6-1 and 3-0 in the Big Ten, after its Dec 26 win 71-70 over Ohio St. However, the Wildcats have 'imploded' since that time and enter this game at Minnesota on a 13-game losing streak (3-9-1 ATS). Minnesota has spent FIVE weeks in the top-25 this season but currently sits 13-10, including 6-10 in the Big Ten. The Gophers haven't been very 'golden' these days, having lost EIGHT of 11 after a lopsided 94-63 loss at home to Illinois on Saturday.
Northwestern has a decent roster, as SEVEN players have participated in all 20 games. A trio of guards in Audige (12.9), Kopp (11.7) and Buie (9.5 & 4.3 APG) plus a duo of 6-10 players, Nance (11.5 & 6.6) & Young (8.2 & 4.5) have led the way. Minnesota PG Carr (19.0-3.9-5.0) has led Minnesota all season but recently guard Gabe Kalscheur (9.2) is out three-to-four weeks with a broken finger and 7-0 center Liam Robbins (11.7 points and team-high 6.6 rebounds) is battling a foot injury. That said, Pitino still has 6-8 Western Michigan transfer Johnson (9.0 & 6.2) and 6-6 Utah transfer Gach (7.3 & 4.0) plus freshman Mashburn (7.1) to turn to.
EIGHT of Northwestern's 13 losses have come by double digits and Minnesota's at-large hopes are plummeting, a strong finish could (would?) get them into the Big Dance" on the strength of the Big Ten. Lay the points.

They're a money-burning 74-95 (-32.4) over the years, when off three or more consecutive victories though. That includes a 5-10 (-5.6) mark their last 15 in that situation. Off three straight close losses, the most recent to these same Oilers, the Canucks are going to be extremely motivated. This is the final leg of a 4-game homestand for Vancouver, which adds to the desperation.
