The Atlanta Hawks got a win in the first game with interim head coach Nate McMillan last night in Miami. They took advantage of a banged up Heat team playing without Jimmy Butler. The Hawks were also out for revenge from a 99-109 loss to Miami in their previous game. Now this is a terrible spot for the Hawks playing their 4th straight road game, the second of a back-to-back, and their 6th game in 9 days. The Magic had yesterday off following a good effort in a 124-130 home loss to the Mavericks. They will be motivated to end this four-game skid they are currently on against a very tough schedule with the last three losses coming to the Mavericks, Jazz and Nets. Atlanta is 0-8 ATS in its last eight road games when playing the second of a back-to-back. Orlando is 25-8 ATS in its last 33 games after scoring 120 points or more last game. The set-up: I think the Leafs will finally come in complacent here after back-to-back shutout victories in Edmonton. Conversely, it's going to be all hands on deck for the Oilers tonight as they look to break this two-game slide. Previous to this series with Toronto, Edmonton had won five in a row.

I will gladly take my chances here with the Terps laying a mere 4-points on the road against the Wildcats. Maryland is a team that no one expected much of this year and a lot of people just wrote this team completely off when they started out the season 1-5 in Big Ten play and were sitting at just 6-6 overall.
At that point they weren't even a Top 50 team in KenPom. However, since that ugly start Maryland has gone a very respectable 9-4 and come into this game having won 5 straight. They are all the sudden up to No. 26 in KenPom's rankings.
They have really taken off here of late behind their defense, which is allowing just 58.8 ppg on a mere 36% shooting during their 5-game win streak. That stingy defense should feast here against an awful Northwestern offense. The Wildcats only average 66.4 ppg in Big Ten play and are averaging a mere 62.0 ppg in their last 5.
Even in their last game, a 67-59 win over Minnesota to snap a 13-game losing streak, they only shot 42% from the field. You also can't overlook how bad the Gophers have been playing down the stretch. That was Minnesota's 4th straight loss and they made it 5 in a row with a loss at Nebraska in their next game.
Maryland has won 10 of the last 11 meetings in this series, including 5 in a row on the road against the Wildcats. Give me the Terps -4!

Without those two players the Lakers roster isn’t better than this Kings starting unit. In fact, we are seeing the impact AD has had on the Lakers as Los Angeles with LeBron was bad a few years back (37-45 SU) and are bad again without Davis on the floor. The Lakers are 3-6 SU their last nine games without AD which is reason enough the debate about LeBron being league MVP this season should be ended. The Lakers are coming off a game and loss last night and it was the Suns second unit that essentially beat LA. The Kings are on a 1-9 SU run but you can bet they’ll be up for a game against the hated Lakers. Sacramento benefits from being off since Sunday while the Lakers are playing without rest and missing their Super Stars. No NBA team is going to come out and say they are throwing a game, but it definitely feels like the Lakers have absolutely zero interest in tonight's game against the Kings. Already without Anthony Davis because of an Achilles injury, LA has came out and said that LeBron will sit out for rest in the Lakers final game before the All-Star break. On top of that, Kyle Kuzma, Alex Caruso and Marc Gasol are all listed as questionable in the second of a back-to-back for LA. I know the Kings have some guys of their own likely not able to play, but I just don't think the Lakers are going to show up with any kind of fight. Bet the Kings -3.5!
