OFFICE PARTY - In this race here, this thoroughbred has clearly shown signs that she likes the grass. Her speed ratings are the highest in the field for this distance and surface. Based on morning blow outs, I look for this filly to run a big race. Horses out of the barn of Catalano have been strong on the grass. Should do well in this race. This racer may have too much power on the turf for the rest of the field. Turning for the finish line, she could put these away. That 85 fig this filly garnered in her last contest tells me she's a chief player this time around. Last raced at Fair Grounds with a poor post position. I swiped some data from The Brain, and his computer says the inside should be a big help to this one today. FAIRCHILD - This filly was overlooked in the betting when she made her debut December 26th. Look for another big effort today. Carroll was aboard this filly last out and was impressed enough to take the animal right back. Filly made a nice late run going 5 1/2 furlongs on Dec 26th. I have to like her chances stretching out today. I look for a chance at a big improvement in this race with the addition of Lasix for the 2nd time. DANCEFORTHEEMPIRE - This pony comes out of a sharp barn for 1st time starters. Walsh has a very solid ROI (+157 percent). It's a big plus that this 1st timer has been working over the same track that she makes her debut at today. I know the outfit is serious today. The filly gets Lasix for the first time. MUCHO MACHO MOMMA - I cannot ignore the fact that this filly is working extremely well. You probably should overlook that last affair at Fair Grounds in the slop where she finished outside the top 3. Should do well today under better track conditions.

GATHERED FLOWERS - Doesn't look inspiring to me after the lack of any sort of closing response on Dec 26th.

My selection for this race is PARKIN IN THE REAR especially at a long price. Has been running quite well lately and will almost certainly be up near the lead early on. The Lasix change (with second time Lasix) may spark a return for this filly. DANA'S BEAUTY - Ran a strong last race. One of the most respectable win percentages between this rider and trainer make this filly dangerous. AVA'S GRACE - With one of the strongest jockeys in terms of dividends at the window, don't count this filly out.

Including that result, the Clippers are 18-6 ATS (19-5 SU) their last 24 against Southeast division opponents. Kawhi was a late scratch last game and is questionable again tonight. Obviously, its better if he plays. Even if he doesn't go, however, the Clippers are a deep team with more than enough to take care of business against the Wizards. With LA 6-3 ATS (8-1 SU) when off an upset loss, consider laying the points.
