CANDY SHOPPER looks quite good to best this field. Has very good Equibase Speed Figures and has to be considered for a wager here. Recorded a sound speed figure in the latest race. Can run another good one in this race. He has very good class ratings, averaging 84, and has to be considered in here. GIMMEASOUND - Breaux has shown excellent profits (+10 return on investment ) at this distance/surface. With a quite good 71 speed figure last time out, will clearly be a factor in this competition.

Look for a strong pace improvement from this racer who enters with second time Lasix today. Will almost certainly go to the front end and might never look back. DUNWOODY - As of late Leon has been sizzling which may give the edge to this filly. Has been running admirably lately and will most likely be on or close to the front end early on.

RACK GIN - Don't often see a favorable ROI like +98. This jock/handler duo has done well together over the last twelve months.

Vulnerable Contenders: #7 ONE EYED JACK (ML=5/2), #1 NIMBLE BEAST (ML=3/1), #6 CHAMBERLAIN (ML=7/2),

ONE EYED JACK - Can't invest in this steed in today's sprint of 6 1/2 furlongs. Hasn't even hit the board in a short distance race recently. NIMBLE BEAST - Awfully difficult to invest in this vulnerable equine when he hasn't been showing any signs of life of late. CHAMBERLAIN - The pace situation just isn't too promising for this speedball. Many other horses would have to scratch to help his efforts. Earned a mediocre speed figure in the last race in a $12,500 Maiden Claiming race on February 12th. Not likely to see an improved performance off of that number.

Today's free pick is on the Golden State Warriors as a 12.5-point road favorite against the Houston Rockets. It's basically fade Houston until they either get healthy or show us they can keep a game respectable. The Rockets have lost 17 straight games with each of the last 10 coming by double-digits. Houston is expected to be without Victor Oladipo, John Wall and Eric Gordon for sure, but several others are likely to not play. With the Warriors off an ugly loss to the Lakers on Monday and the Rockets playing on no rest after an ugly loss at home to the Hawks last night, I would be shocked if Golden State didn't win here by 15+ points. Bet the Warriors -12.5!

I know a lot of focus right now is on the NCAA Tournament, but there's often some great value in the NIT, especially early on. I think it's really difficult for teams who either just missed out on the Big Dance or were snubbed an at-large bid to show up with the right mindset in that first game of the NIT.
I feel like Western Kentucky is that team you want to fade. The Hilltoppers were one of the best teams in C-USA this season and had to feel like they had a team that could make a run in the Big Dance. They only lost by 6 on a neutral floor against West Virginia and won outright at Alabama in non-conference (also had wins over UNI, Memphis and Rhode Island).
WKU was as close as you could get to making, losing 57-61 in OT to North Texas in the C-USA title game. Losing in OT is painful, but even more so when you take into account how this team was able to overcome a 17-0 deficit to start the game and put together a thrilling 7-0 run at the end of regulation to force OT.
I just think it's asking a lot for this team to be mentally ready for this game against a good St. Mary's team. Not only that, starting power forward Carson Williams is not going to play as he left the team to get ready for his NFL Pro Day.
While the Gaels finished just 14-9, they only had 2 losses all season against a team ranked outside the Top 40 in KenPom's rankings. I think St. Mary's is more than happy to be here in the NIT and I wouldn't be shocked if they won this thing going away. Give me the Gaels -2!

The Charlotte Hornets have been one of the most underrated teams in the NBA this season. They sit at 20-18 on the season after winning four straight games by a combined 49 points coming into this road five-game road trip against Western Conference opponents. The Hornets are fully healthy right now and playing their best basketball of the season because of it.
They are a balanced team with six different players averaging at least 12.6 points per game. LaMelo Ball is well on his way to earning Rookie of the Year honors in averaging 15.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 6.3 assists this season. And Gordon Hayward (21.1 PPG) has taken on a big leadership role for this team and is having one of his best seasons.
I think the Nuggets are overvalued right now after going 6-1 SU & 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall with five of those wins coming against teams with losing records. They lost to one of the two winning teams they played in Dallas by 13 at home.
Denver is 5-13-1 ATS in its last 19 games following a win by more than 10 points. The Nuggets are 1-4 ATS in their last five games as home favorites. Charlotte is 10-2 ATS when the total is 230 or higher this season. Bet the Hornets Wednesday.
