Toronto snapped a 9-game losing streak in fashion, as they destroyed the Nuggets 135-111 as a 1.5-point home dog on Wednesday. Thing is Toronto is still undervalued because of how bad they were leading up to that win. Key is that a lot of those losses in their losing streak came when they were missing several key guys. I know they just traded Powell and might be a little short-handed for this one, but I still like them to win outright. Bet the Raptors +4.5!

Friday NHL Free play. My selection is on the 'over' between Anaheim and St. Louis at 8:05 pm et on Friday.
With the Blues coming off a shutout loss in Minnesota last night, I'm anticipating a few more offensive fireworks on Friday night in St. Louis. Note that the 'over' has gone 10-4 following an 'under' result involving the Blues this season. Those games have produced an average total of 7.0 goals. The Ducks bring negative momentum to the table (as usual) but that sets us up for a relatively high-scoring affair as well, noting that they've allowed 3.4 goals per game after losing three of their last four games over the last two seasons. St. Louis hasn't been good playing at home on the second of back-to-back nights, allowing 4.0 goals per game in that spot over the last three seasons, perhaps opening the door just a crack for a Ducks offense that is desperate for a breakout. The 'under' has cashed in each of the last three meetings between these two teams in St. Louis but they've yet to match up in Missouri this season. Note that four previous meetings between them this season have totaled an average of 6.5 goals. Take the over (8*).

I'm going to take the UNDER 219.5 in Friday's matchup between the Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets. I think we are going to see a much slower pace than most would expect between these two Southeast Division rivals.
I feel there's value with the UNDER right now in Hornets' games with the injury to LaMelo Ball. Not only was Ball a decent scorer, but his vision and passing skills led to a ton of easy fast break points. Without Ball Charlotte is going to have to work a little more in the half-court.
As for Miami, the Heat are fresh off a crushing 122-125 loss at home to Portland last night. While that was a high-scoring game, Miami shot a ridiculous 56% from the field. It was the first time they shot better than 50% in a game in almost a month (had shot 42% or worse in 4 of their previous 6).
Factor in the tired legs in the 2nd game of back-to-back and a short-handed roster after yesterday's trades, I see the Heat looking to slow the tempo way down here (already rank bottom 5 in pace).
UNDER is also 6-0 in the Heat's last 6 road games, 4-0 in the Hornets last 4 home games and 22-7 in the last 29 meetings between these two teams when they play in Charlotte. Give me the UNDER 219.5!
