ARIZONA @ SAN DIEGO | 04/02 | 10:10 PM EDT
SAN DIEGO -213
ANALYSIS: Since no one at SportsLine has picked this yet, I will. I treat baseball like hockey. Take the home favorite for the most part unless given a reason to back the road underdog on the runline. While Arizona starter Merrill Kelly was terrific last year in just five starts, all projections forecast a major step back closer to his 2019 form. He also had major surgery in the offseason. The Padres know him; Arizona batters don't know new San Diego left-hander Blake Snell, the former AL Cy Young winner acquired from Tampa. He didn't allow a run all spring across five starts. I am tempted to take Padres on the runline here ... but will take the risk at -213 simply for a victory.

ATLANTA @ NEW ORLEANS | 04/02 | 9:00 PM EDT
UNDER 222.5
ANALYSIS: I don't do a lot of NBA totals, but I had to jump on this one because it's almost humorous how many big-name players are out for this game: Atlanta's Trae Young, John Collins, Danilo Gallinari, De'Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish, and New Orleans' Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart. Wow! I may be missing a lesser guy or two on either side. Both clubs stink defensively, but how will they score in this G-League matchup? I have ZERO opinion on the spread.

CHI. WHITE SOX @ L.A. ANGELS | 04/02 | 9:38 PM EDT
CHI. WHITE SOX +105
ANALYSIS: Have to say I'm surprised the White Sox are underdogs here. Yes, they lost the opener 4-3 in Anaheim when their bullpen failed late, but Chicago absolutely obliterated left-handed pitching in 2020 in going 14-0 against southpaw starters. The Pale Hose have a predominantly right-handed lineup and will see the debut of touted prospect Andrew Vaughn here. Halos lefty Andrew Heaney had a mediocre 4.46 ERA last year and is prone to allowing homers -- right in Chicago's wheelhouse. Sox lefty starter Dallas Keuchel was terrific last year with a 1.99 ERA. The Angels were below .500 against southpaws in 2020.

GOLDEN ST. @ TORONTO | 04/02 | 7:00 PM EDT
TORONTO -125
ANALYSIS: The Raptors are free-falling and won't have Kyle Lowry here -- and they have essentially zero home-court advantage in Tampa. However, I am almost positive the Warriors will not have Steph Curry after he fell hard on his tailbone in Thursday's loss in Miami. He had just returned from a tailbone injury earlier this week. The Dubs without Curry are putrid. Draymond Green was banged up Thursday, too, so maybe he sits as well.
