The Lakers made a splash by signing Andre Drummond who is expected to play tonight but the rest of the supporting cast isn’t enough to get a cover here. L.A. is still without James and Davis and won’t be a contender again until those two are back in the lineup. In their last five games the Lakers have the 2nd worst offensive efficiency numbers in the NBA at 1.008-PPP. Lay the points with Milwaukee.

The Phoenix Suns are coming off 117-110 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, as Devin Booker led with 21 points. Dario Saric contributed 20 points off the bench and Jae Crowder scored 19. The Suns are now 32-14 and only the Utah Jazz own a better record in the entire NBA (I guess their 8-0 SU & ATS run in last year's bubble' was a precursor of things to come!). The Bulls are coming off a 116-102 loss at Golden St on Monday, as Chicago lost its fourth in a row. The 76ers, Nets and Bucks have separated themselves from the rest of the East teams, with as many almost the rest of the eastern teams still 'alive' for a possible playoff berth. The East's "Play-In" round will feature seeds 7 thru 10 and Chicago enters tonight's game 19-26 (No. 10 seed).
The Bulls' top scorer, Zach LaVine (27.5 & 5.8), managed only 12 points on 4-for-16 shooting in Chicago's loss at San Francisco. He acknowledged after the game that he was dealing with a sprained ankle, and he is considered questionable to play against Phoenix. Nikola Vucevic (24.4 & 11.6), who the Bulls acquired from the Orlando Magic before the trade deadline, finished with 21 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Gone in trades are the 6-10 Carter and the 6-8 Porter, both double digit scorers. Still around are the 7-0 Markkanen (17.2 & 5.8), PG White (15.0-4.6-4.6) and SF Young (12.0-6.4-4.4).
The Suns' major offseason acquisition was getting PG Chris Paul but also added SF Jae Crowder. Paul (165.9-4.7-8.5) has been terrific, while Crowder (10..7 & 5.0) has missed just three games, starting 28 of 43. Center Ayton (14.7 & 11.0) and SF Bridges (13.3 & 4.9) have both played in ALL 46 games this season. Then, there is Devin Booker, who averages 25.0-4.1-4.5. The Suns of the past were known for their fast-paced style but Monty Williams' team is allowing just 107. PPG (3rd) on 45.6% shooting (8th), including 34.2% on threes (2nd).
The Suns opened as a seven-point favorite (were bet down to 5.5) against an Atlanta team playing very well under its new head coach (Nate McMillan) last night but for some reason, the Suns opened the same seven points here vs a struggling Chicago team. Lay the points!
