The Denver Nuggets were just 17-17 on the morning of Feb 26 but have since gone 15-3 (enter this game on a six-game winning streak) to move up in the West to the No. 4 seed at 32-18 (just ONE game back of the third-seeded Clippers). Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs are headed in the wrong direction. The team's 22-16 record through games played through March 19 is no more, after the Spurs have lost EIGHT of 10 to fall to 24-24. San Antonio's most likely path to the postseason will be via the NBA's "Play-In" round, which features seeds 7-10. The Spurs head out on a FIVE-game road trip on the heels of THREE straight home losses, in 2 OTs vs Atlanta, in OT vs Indiana and then a blowout 125-101 loss to Cleveland (Cavs are just 18-32).
The Spurs are led by DeRozan (21.0-4.4-7.0). Murray (15.7-7.0-5.2) and White (14.2) but have four other double digit scorers, as well SF Johnson (13.7 ^=& 6,4), guards Mills (12.4) and Walker (11.5) plus SF Gay (11.3). However, Walker hasn't played since March 22, With Aldridge (13.7 & 4.5) gone to Brooklyn, the Spurs rely on Poeltl (8.1 & 8.0) at center.
The Nuggets have the ever-improving Jokic (26.4-10.9-8.6) but PG Murray (21.3-4.0-4.8) sat out the last game with soreness in his right knee and his status is unknown. The good news is that the Nuggets are one of the NBA's deepest teams and were even BEFORE they acquired forward Aaron Gordon from Orlando prior to the trade deadline. Gordon was averaging 14.6 & 6.6 for the Magic and has added 13.2 PPG in five games with Denver (Nuggets are 5-0). Joining Jokic and Gordon up front are SF Porter (16.9 & 7.5) plus PFs Millsap (9.4 & 4.8) and Green (8.4 & 5.2). Swingman Barton (12.7-4.3-3.2) has been healthy all season and PG Morris (10.4 & 3.3), who hadn't played since March 12, returned the last two games, scoring 10 points in each one,
The Spurs begin a five-game road trip with two contests in Denver, tonight and again on Friday. Yes, San Antonio is 12-7 on the road but NO ONE wants to play the Nuggets these days, especially at Pepsi Center. Lay the points, as the Nuggets may just remember losing by 10 points in San Antonio back on Jan 29.

Wednesday's Free NBA pick is on the Denver Nuggets as a 7-point home favorite against the San Antonio Spurs. I just don't think it's asking much for Denver to win here by double-digits. The Nuggets have been absolutely rolling since they acquired Aaron Gordon in a trade. Denver comes in having won 6 straight and are 5-1 ATS during this stretch. San Antonio has lost 3 straight and the real big concern with their recent stretch of play is their defense. The Spurs have allowed 125 or more points in 3 straight and 4 of their last 5. Really hard for them to keep it within this number if Denver is scoring close to 130. Bet the Nuggets -7!

The Coyotes certainly come in as the "hotter" team. Yet, the Kings figure to be the "hungrier" one. Arizona is just 10-20 (-11.4) the past 30 times that it had won its previous three games, 0-2 this season. The Kings, on the other hand, are 4-3 (+3) on the season, after having dropped their previous three. The Coyotes just beat them here two nights ago. With the Coyotes potentially looking ahead to their upcoming trip to Vegas, I like the Kings' chances of exacting some revenge. Consider LA.
