BOSTON @ MINNESOTA | 04/15 | 1:10 PM EDT
BOSTON +1.5
ANALYSIS: I was going to back the Twins to end Boston's nine-game winning streak with the Sox resting red-hot DH JD Martinez, but Minnesota manager Rocco Baldelli is trumping that by sitting three of his best hitters in Byron Buxton, Josh Donaldson and Mitch Garver -- plus shortstop Andrelton Simmons is on the injured list. Boston pitcher Garrett Richards is 2-1 with a 3.02 ERA in seven games (six starts) in his career vs. Minnesota, so we'll take the Sox at -145 on the runline.

SEATTLE @ BALTIMORE | 04/15 | 12:35 PM EDT
UNDER 7.5
ANALYSIS: First game of a doubleheader, and I'm surprised the total is set this high for a seven-inning game -- not sure I can remember one this high under the new rules. Usually they are between 6-7. Plus, in theory, this could only be a 6.5-inning game if Baltimore doesn't need to bat in the bottom of the seventh. When these clubs played two Tuesday, one finished at seven runs and one at 13. These very early starts usually favor the pitchers and it's ace Marco Gonzales for the M's -- although he wasn't very good last time out. Neither offense is very good with Seattle hitting .232 on the season and Baltimore .227.

MIAMI @ ATLANTA | 04/15 | 12:20 PM EDT
ATLANTA -160
ANALYSIS: I've lost on the Braves twice since Sunday because their bullpen blew a game late. They are about to be stunningly swept a four-game series at home by the Marlins, and I simply have a hard time believing that will happen. It's a getaway game, the Marlins are happy already winning three of the first four and face excellent young Atlanta right-hander Ian Anderson. He has a 1.04 ERA in two career regular-season starts vs. the Marlins. Miami lefty Trevor Rogers (1-1, 1.80) has been very good in the early going, but maybe what the Braves need is to face a lefty as they have only once so far. They are 9-3 in their past 12 vs. southpaws.

FLORIDA @ TAMPA BAY | 04/15 | 7:00 PM EDT
TAMPA BAY -160
ANALYSIS: Florida is a very good team, Tampa Bay has looked somewhat mortal of late and may not have sniper Steven Stamkos again Thursday due to injury. Still, getting the Bolts at just -160 at home is something that can't be turned down as long as Vezina favorite Andrei Vasilevskiy is in net -- and he should be. The Russian is 25-6-1 with a 2.00 goals-against average and .932 save percentage. He's 13-0-0 at home with a 1.46 GAA. Tampa has won 11 of the past 14 in this series.

WINNIPEG @ TORONTO | 04/15 | 7:00 PM EDT
TORONTO -173
ANALYSIS: Second of a back-to-back for the Jets, who took the NHL lead with 15 road wins thanks to Wednesday's 3-2 OT victory in Ottawa. Backup Laurent Brossoit was in net for Winnipeg, which remains without winger Blake Wheeler (32 points). Toronto looks to end a two-game skid and turns to excellent Jack Campbell (11-1-0, 1.98 GAA). He has beaten the Jets in both starts against them in 2021 and allowed one goal in each. The Leafs have won seven of the past 10 in the series.
CLEVELAND @ CHI. WHITE SOX | 04/15 | 2:10 PM EDT
UNDER 8
ANALYSIS: The first three games of this series have produced a total of 17 runs, and two of those came in extra innings. Now we have a potential pitchers' duel with Aaron Civale facing Lance Lynn. The Indians have been shut out twice and are batting .211 this season. Civale should be able to hold the White Sox down after posting a 0.55 WHIP in his first two starts. Combined, these teams are 15-8 to the Under.
