ANALYSIS: Nashville is playing really well right now, and we won on the Preds on Tuesday when they routed Tampa Bay. However, winning at a very good Carolina team is another story as Nashville remains without a ton of injured guys led by Filip Forsberg and stud rookie Eeli Tolvanen. In addition, the team is only 3-11 in its past 14 vs. clubs with a winning record. Carolina leads the season series 4-0 and has won 11 of the past 12 in it. Canes netminder Petr Mrazek (4-1-1, 1.47) has been great in limited action.

ANALYSIS: I should be WAY up on my MLB picks, but freaking leaky bullpens keep blowing late leads and costing me big time -- three games this week already (nearly four but Braves rallied today after blowing another lead). The Nationals return home after impressively taking two of three in St. Louis. Washington lefty Patrick Corbin (0-1, 12.46) was not good in his season debut in L.A., but the Dodgers will make a lot of pitchers look bad. Corbin had a 3.29 ERA at home last year. Arizona's Merrill Kelly (0-2, 8.10) has been hit hard in both outings and those were both on the road, too. A few Snakes regulars are not starting this game simply for rest, and they are 0-2 vs. lefties in 2021.

ANALYSIS: The Tigers come off a stunning sweep in Houston, and if you bet on Detroit to win every game of that on the moneyline, you are rolling in cash. However, the Tigers had to fly to Oakland after Wednesday's win and did use their closer, so he may not be available. The A's were off Wednesday and thus have a full bullpen. They start lefty Sean Manaea, who comes off a very good outing vs. Houston. Tigers rookie Tarik Skubal is a touted prospect but has a 6.10 ERA in 41.1 career big-league innings. Detroit is 1-7 in its past eight in Oakland.

ANALYSIS: Pittsburgh is a vastly different team in the Igloo, going 16-3-1 at home, and the Pens have won four of the past five there against their state rivals. Tristan Jarry (17-8-2, 2.84) is 12-2-1 with a 2.29 GAA at home. Hard to trust inconsistent Flyers netminder Carter Hart (8-11-0, 3.79 GAA). Philly has lost six of eight and is playing a fourth game in six nights. The team is 2-8 in the past 10 such instances.
