    MLB | Giants vs Phillies
Play on: Phillies +103 at pinnacle

My free play is on the Phi Phillies at 7:05 ET.
The Giants finished just ONE game out of a spot in the expanded playoffs during Gabe Kapler's first season after he replaced the retiring Bruce Bochy. San Francisco didn't make any major moves this offseason but got Buster Posey back behind the plate after he opted out of the 2020 season. San Francisco re-signed Kevin Gausman (more in a bit) and added Alex Wood, Anthony DeSclafani and Aaron Sanchez to bolster the rotation. Kinda brings back memories of Glavive, Maddux and Smoltz. Meanwhile, the Phillies opened the 2021 season seeking their first winning season since 2011, with hopes of ending a NINE-year postseason drought. The teams begin a three-game series tonight in Philadelphia, with the Giants checking in at 9-6 and the Phillies at 8-7.
The Giants are 9-6, despite an offense that ranks 29th in runs scored (3.27 per game) and in team BA (.205). The Phillies' offense isn't much better, averaging 3.80 RPG (22nd) with a .236 BA (13th). So why go over? The fact is, I think BOTH starters are very vulnerable (Gausman for SF and Anderson for Phi). The Giants re-signed Gausman and one wonders what they expect from him. He entered the season having made 203 big league appearances (164 starts) with a 50-66 record and 4.31 ERA. He's NEVER had a winning season in eight years. He surprised me with two solid starts (13.2 IP / 2 ERs) in 2021 but at home vs Cincy (4/13), allowed five ERs in six innings. He's made four career starts vs Philly, going 0-3 (team is 1-3) with a 6.45 ERA.
The 33-year-old Anderson finished 53-40 with a 3.94 ERA in 166 appearances with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Milwaukee Brewers from 2014-19. He did go 29-16 with a 3.63 ERA from 2017-19 with Milwaukee but was awful for Toronto in 2020, with a 7.22 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and .315 BAA in 10 appearances (seven starts). His first two starts of 2021 have come against the Mets and he's pitched just nine innings, allowing four ERs. He is 3-2 with a 4.76 ERA in nine starts (teams are 5-4) vs the Giants. I'm not sold on Anderson but note that the Phillies are 7-2 at home and the Giants have struggled at the plate. As for Gausman, I just NOT a fan. Play the home team.
    Good luck...Larry

      MLB | Cardinals vs Nationals
Play on: Cardinals -113 at Draft Kings

1* Free Sharp Play on Cardinals -113
The Cardinals (-113) are worth a look as a slim road favorite against the Nationals in Monday's MLB action. St. Louis was unable to get anything going in Sunday's 0-2 loss, but that's actually a positive for us. The Cardinals are 11-2 over the last 2 seasons when coming off a game where they had 4 or les hits. St Louis will also have ace Jack Flaherty on the mound. He has been sharp in his two outings after getting roughed up on the road by the Reds in his first start. Joe Ross hasn't given up a run in his last two starts. He's due to struggle and it should help the Cardinals' hitters that they just faced Ross on 4/14. Play St Louis -113!

                1* NBA - Bulls/Celtics *FREE PICK* on Celtics -6
Monday's Free NBA Pick is on the Boston Celtics as a 6-point home favorite against the Chicago Bulls. This feels like quite the discount to back the Celtics at home against a Bulls team that is down there best player in Zach LaVine. Not to mention, Boston is playing arguably their best basketball of the season right now. Celtics have won 6 straight and 8 of 9 overall. Bulls come in off a win at home against the Cavs, but are just 1-5 SU and 1-5 ATS in their last 6. Bet the Celtics -6!

Play on: Rays +101 at pinnacle

The Royals have been an early-season surprise leading the AL Central with a 9-5 mark. Danny Duffy has contributed to this going 2-0 with an 0.75 ERA.
So is the 32-year-old, 11-year veteran Duffy suddenly turning to elite status after being so mediocre the past three seasons with ERA's of 4.95, 4.34 and 4.88? I'm willing to say no by taking the underdog Rays, a superior team to the Royals, and their promising second-year pitcher, Josh Fleming. The Rays pull into Kansas City fresh off a three-game road sweep of the Yankees. Baseball isn't basketball or football. The daily grind of playing just about every day prevents letdowns and hangovers. I'll take the better team at this price with the confidence that Fleming is up to the task. He won't lack motivation with about 30-plus friends and family expected to attend the game as Fleming grew up near the Illinois/Missouri border. Fleming was 5-0 with a 2.78 ERA in seven games last season, including five starts. Primarily a ground-ball pitcher, Fleming held the Rangers to one run in five-plus innings during his lone start this season. He had nearly a 65 percent ground ball ratio against the Rangers and his fastball was clocked at 92.2 miles, up nearly two mph from last season. The Royals have never faced Fleming, giving him the element of surprise. Tampa Bay has enjoyed excellent success against Kansas City defeating the Royals in 12 of the last 15 meetings.

Play on: Wizards -12 -105 at BetCris

The Thunder are playing as bad as any team in the NBA right now. This team stunk before, but injuries have gutted an already weak roster. And this team is just not putting forth an NBA-level squad now. They have covered in only one of their last 10 games. And they rallied to get that cover against a Utah team that was running on fumes on a B2B. This team is getting blown out every night, and we don’t see why this game would be any different. Washington has won six of seven and covered in six of eight. This team is playing its best basketball of the season. They won’t overlook this game since they had a slow start to the season and every win matters here. This team can score a lot, and we don’t see any way the Thunder can keep up.

Rockets vs Heat Free Pick April 19, 2021
The Houston Rockets are 38-19 to the under on the season and they are averaging only 108.2 points per game (24th).
The Miami Heat are even worse with their 106.4 ppg average, but they are also capable of playing lockdown defense and have the no. 3 scoring defense in the league.
On Sunday, the Heat defeated Brooklyn 109-107 as an underdog, and I expect them to keep the tempo low here, something the tanking Rockets probably won't mind.
Under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings. Under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Miami.
                              Free pick on UNDER.

                                MLB | Rays vs Royals
Play on: Rays +101 at pinnacle

Monday MLB Free play. My selection is on Tampa Bay over Kansas City at 8:10 pm et on Monday.
The Rays are coming off an impressive series sweep of the Yankees in the Bronx over the weekend but I don't believe a letdown will be in order on Monday as they head to Kansas City to face the Royals. Kansas City currently owns the better overall record, but I feel Tampa Bay is the superior team and that will bear itself out over time. Josh Fleming takes the ball for the Rays on Monday. He quietly turned in a fantastic 2020 season and had a great spring this year as well. He did labor a bit through five innings in his first start this season but still gave up just one earned run and I look for him to build on that performance here. Note that Fleming has kept opposing hitters off balance throughout his young big league career, recording a 31.6% hard-hit ball percentage and 85.1 mph exit velocity off opposing bats. His ground ball percentage sits at a stellar 64.0% and that held strong in his season debut as he posted a 64.7%. The Royals enter this game relatively cold at the dish after scoring just six runs in a double-header shortened three-game series against the Blue Jays over the weekend. Danny Duffy will counter for Kansas City. He's off to a fine start this season with a 0.75 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. But as is often the case, a deeper look shows at least some reason for concern. Duffy has recorded a 44.1% line drive percentage and a poor 29.4% ground ball percentage, both considerably worse than the MLB average. He has given up just one home run in 12 innings of work but I anticipate some regression to the mean in that department as he has allowed no better than 1.3 home runs per nine innings over the last three seasons. The Rays are 23-11 in their last 34 games against opponents that own winning records, as is the case against the Royals tonight, outscoring those opponents by 0.7 runs per game on average. Take Tampa Bay (8*).
