NBA | Hawks vs Knicks
Play on: Knicks +1½ -105 at pinnacle
Dave's Wednesday Free Play:
1* on New York Knicks +1.5 The Key: The New York Knicks continue to lack the respect they deserve from oddsmakers as home underdogs to the Atlanta Hawks tonight. This despite the fact that the Knicks are 8-2 SU & 10-0 ATS in their last 10 games overall with their only losses both coming on the road to the Nets and Celtics by 2 points each. The Knicks have won 7 straight since those defeats. They will be playing for a 2nd consecutive day here but so will the Hawks. The difference is the Knicks don't have any travel involved as they are playing at home against after a 12-point win over the Hornets last night. The Hawks have to fly in from Atlanta after beating the lowly Magic last night. The Knicks are 21-5 ATS when the line is +3 to -3 this season, including 14-1 ATS at home. Take New York.

NHL | Canadiens vs Oilers
Play on: Canadiens +1½ -200 at pinnacle
Wednesday NHL Free play. My selection is on Montreal +1.5 goals over Edmonton at 10:05 pm et on Wednesday.
The Oilers took the front half of this two-game set by a 4-1 score two nights ago as the Canadiens folded in the third period. Fortunately for Montreal, it didn't lose any ground in the North Division playoff race as the Flames lost on home ice against the Senators on the same night. Here, I look for the Habs to turn in a more complete effort and will grab the insurance goal in what has the makings of a tightly-contested affair. Note that Montreal has gone 11-5 when playing on the road after scoring two goals or less in consecutive games over the last three seasons, outscoring opponents by 0.6 goals on average in that spot. Meanwhile, the Oilers check in 8-16 when coming off a win by two goals or more over a division opponent over the last three seasons, outscored by 1.1 goals per game in that situation. We've also seen Montreal outscore opponents by 0.2 goals on average when on the road seeking revenge for a loss by three goals or more over the last two seasons. While the Habs have posted a losing record on the road this season, they've actually outscored opponents by 0.3 goals per game. In desperate need of points to secure a playoff spot, look for Montreal to at the very least take Edmonton down to the wire on Wednesday. Take Montreal +1.5 goals (8*).

NBA | Wolves vs Kings
Play on: OVER 238½ -112
Jack's Free Pick Wednesday: Timberwolves/Kings OVER 238.5
I cashed in my free pick on the OVER 237.5 with ease in the Timberwolves/Kings game last night as they combined for 254 points in a 134-120 victory for Minnesota. I'm back on the OVER 238.5 today for many of the same reasons.
The Timberwolves rank 3rd in the NBA in pace this season while the Kings rank 9th, so both like to play at fast tempos. The reason both teams are terrible is because they don't play defense. The Kings rank dead last (30th) in defensive efficiency while the Timberwolves rank 27th.
The Kings have scored at least 110 points in six straight games while giving up at least 113 points in 11 of their last 12 games. The Timberwolves have scored at least 113 points in seven of their last 10 games and allowed 111 or more in eight straight contests. Bet the OVER in this game Wednesday.

NBA | Nuggets vs Blazers
Play on: Nuggets -1 -110 at Mirage
1 Unit FREE PLAY on Denver Nuggets -1
The Denver Nuggets continue to win despite playing without Jamal Murray. They have gone 11-2 SU in their last 13 games overall including three straight victories without Murray over Miami by 17, Houston by 29 and Memphis by 2. Now they are rested tonight playing just their 2nd game in 5 days. The same cannot be said for the Blazers, who are playing the second of a back-to-back after a tough 112-113 loss to the Clippers who were without Kawhi Leonard last night. The Blazers dropped to 2-6 SU & 3-5 ATS in their last eight games overall with their only victories coming against the Pistons and Spurs (by 1). The Nuggets are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games playing on one days' rest. Denver is 8-3 ATS in its last 11 road games. Portland is 3-10 ATS in its last 13 home games against a team with a winning road record. The Nuggets are 6-1 ATS in their last seven trips to Portland. Give me the Nuggets.
