Is a solid choice - given the 94 speed rating from his most recent race. POSITIVITY - If you examine closely, this one has some longshot potential. Garnered a strong speed figure in the last race. Can run another good one in this affair. BIG TALKER - Has posted solid Equibase Speed Figs in turf route races in the past. Win percentage one of the best in this group.

MISS HATTIE - Have to make this mare a serious competitor; she comes off a strong effort on Mar 28th. VOL DE SOLEIL - Scherer drops her down to this level. You don't need too much more knowledge to figure that this thoroughbred will be one to beat at this level. Average class figure is tops in this bunch. I think that is a big advantage for a grass race.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 MIKE'S LADY (ML=5/2), #2 SPEAK ENGLISH (ML=9/2),

MIKE'S LADY - Hard to wager on a runner that lays up for a long time then doesn't end up on the board off the extended vacation. SPEAK ENGLISH - Awfully hard to bet on this runner when she hasn't been showing any signs of readiness recently. Tough to put any dough on this filly on the top end. Likes to finish in the money though.

Earned a strong speed rating last time out. VALENTE ONE - He has been running admirably lately while recording solid Equibase Speed Figures. The Equibase Speed Figure of 81 from his last contest looks formidable in here. LADY QUIC CARTEL - Has longshot potential and could score at big odds. Flores has her trained solidly to break sharply out of the starting gate.

WAY TO FIRE - This filly is a gem of consistency, almost always in the top three. FIRE DIAMONDS - Jock jumped on this filly's back for the first time on Apr 2nd. Should know the horse even better in this race. Lone speed horses can be tough to run down. Here's a lone speed freak facing sluggish sorts today. The jock and trainer combination here have a high winning percentage when they team up. A pony coming back this quickly after a sharp outing is a good sign. KISS RIDE GOODBYE - The jockey/conditioner pair of Monroy and Delia has a strong return on investment together. This animal collects a lot of money per start. Number one in this race.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 SCHERZO (GB) (ML=5/2), #4 HOLY ZAGS (ML=7/2), #2 TORQUAY (ML=8/1),

SCHERZO (GB) - This filly finished off the board on March 11th and wasn't close to winning last time out either. A closer like this one needs a ding-dong battle to set things up and she isn't likely to get one in this one. Don't think this less than sharp equine will make a winning move today. That last speed rating was most unsatisfactory when compared with today's class rating. HOLY ZAGS - The third place finish position in the last event was not the best. On a downward spiraling sequence. Speed ratings keep dropping. TORQUAY - Tough for this closer horse to get up today. Without a hot pace to stir things up, the lone pace is going to make it awfully hard to get the job done. When looking at today's class rating, she will have to garner a much better speed figure than last time out to be competitive in this turf route.

GUEST COMMENTARY: The Turf Man - FIRE DIAMONDS - Racing on the turf in a route makes this thoroughbred extremely dangerous today. Sherman has an excellent win percentage with horses at today's distance/surface.
