                  STICK WITH WHAT WORKS

                  COLORADO @ ST. LOUIS | 05/07 | 8:15 PM GMT
                  ST. LOUIS -1.5

ANALYSIS: To get the -1.5 run line at +100 is beautiful, because this game just screams blowout. The Rockies are atrocious on the road (2-11 this season). They've even pitched worse on the road than in Coors Field. Cardinals starter Jack Flaherty has a 2.10 ERA since his bad opening day start and he's been nearly a run better at home than on the road throughout his career. It's difficult to see the Rockies staying within a run here. We said similar sentiment last week in taking the Cardinals on the run line and it worked. Stick with what works.

                  CINCINNATI @ CLEVELAND | 05/07 | 7:10 PM GMT
                  CLEVELAND -135

ANALYSIS: The Reds are 4-8 on the road this season. Their offense has slashed .202/.267/.333 while averaging just 2.92 runs per game away from Great American Ball Park this season. Cleveland starter Zach Plesac rebounded from some early struggles with 5 2/3 scoreless innings last time out and should deal with the Joey Votto-less (and maybe Nick Castellanos-less) Reds' offense. The Indians have seen Wade Miley recently and they dinged him for four runs in five innings in a win. They'll score just enough to win here.

                  WASHINGTON @ N.Y. YANKEES | 05/07 | 7:05 PM GMT
                  N.Y. YANKEES -1.5

ANALYSIS: Nationals starter Patrick Corbin hasn't been quite as bad as his numbers indicate, given that he's pitched well the last three times out. Still, he's no longer a power pitcher and the Yankees eat lefties up (.803 OPS vs. lefty starters this year). The Yankees' offense has scored at least six runs in four of their last six games. We trust them to win on the -1.5 run line due mostly to the offense, but also because Jameson Taillon has pitched much better than his surface-level stats indicate (his expected ERA per statcast, for example, is 2.91). The Yankees get back on their hot streak by a multi-run win.

                    MILWAUKEE @ MIAMI | 05/07 | 7:10 PM GMT
                    MIAMI -135

ANALYSIS: This is a reasonable price on the Marlins, who just outscored the Diamondbacks 20-4 in a three-game sweep. The Brewers limp into Miami on a five-game skid, as they continue to miss Christian Yelich. Marlins rookie lefty Trevor Rogers dominated the Brewers on April 26, tossing six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts. Miami's bullpen has been brilliant lately and enters Friday with the second-best ERA (3.34) in the National League. Look for the Marlins to win their fifth straight home game.

                      MIAMI -135
ANALYSIS: Marlins starter Trevor Rogers is priced at -135 Friday, which is still too cheap. But at least oddsmakers are catching on a bit. This guy is a top-15 pitcher so far this season and I refuse to hear any objection. There are only five pitchers in the MLB with a better swinging-strike rate than him. That is some really good company. He already pitched six scoreless innings against the Brewers in Milwaukee, and now they face him in Miami as they try to stop a five-game slide. I think this is too tall a task, especially since Milwaukee has no starter and is going with a bullpen day. Play the Marlins on the money line and consider a first-five innings play as well.

                      COLORADO @ ST. LOUIS | 05/07 | 8:15 PM EDT
                      ST. LOUIS -1.5
ANALYSIS: I have been fading the Rockies on the road all year and Friday they get Jack Flaherty and the Cardinals. Flaherty has opposing hitters batting at 0.056 AVG on his fastball when at home and rocks a nasty put-away slider to back it up. I love this spot for him, so to be given close to even money (-1.5, -105) is the type of start to a Friday you want to see. The Rockies also normally lose by multiple runs, as 10 of their last 11 road losses have come by two or more runs.

                      SAN DIEGO @ SAN FRANCISCO | 05/07 | 9:45 PM EDT
                      SAN FRANCISCO +125
ANALYSIS: The Giants have been very good at home, winning 10 of 13 games. The Giants are also attempting to avoid a three-game losing streak after dropping the last two to the Coors-fueled Rockies. So with stud hurler Anthony DeSclafani taking the mound today I like their chances to bounce back and win the series opener. You are getting good value going against a name brand team in the Padres, who have actually been relatively cold the last week. San Diego is 24th in OPS the last 15 days while the Giants are sixth. Plus, only one team has scored fewer than the 17 runs the Padres produced in the last week (the Pirates with 12). Let’s take the plus money.

                        Rob V: Friday Comp Play

Friday card has Platinum Supreme Soccer Play, a 6* MLB Dominator System and the NBA Friday night Hot side headlining. MLB Comp Play below.

The MLB Comp Play for Friday is on San Diego at 9:40 eastern. The Padres fit a nice MLB League Wide system here that has won 9 of 10 since 2004 playing on road favorites with a total of 8 or less that are off a -140 or higher home favored win and now facing a team like SF that comes in off a road loss despite scoring 5 or more runs. The Padres are 13-3 on Fridays and have won 4 of 5 vs a winning team and 7 of 10 as a road favorite, Snell has been Superb outside of 1 bad start. Overall hes better than SF Righty Desclafani. The Giants have lost 14 of 19 vs a winning team and 13 of 18 in the series including 6 of 8 here at home. Look for the Padres to take the Opener. Rob V- GC Sports.

                          MINNESOTA +6
ANALYSIS: The Timberwolves are one of the teams with a bad record that is not resting their top players down the stretch. That’s helped them go 5-3 over their last eight games. All three of their losses came by four points or fewer, as well. Both Jimmy Butler (illness) and Tyler Herro (foot) are listed as questionable, so if either of them sits out, it would be a big loss for the Heat. Add in the Heat being just 11-15-1 ATS as a favorite at home, and I like taking the points.

                            SEATTLE +1.5
ANALYSIS: Not long ago, the Mariners were short favorites but now that has flipped, so Seattle is nice value as a +105 underdog at +1.5 on the runline. The Rangers start Mike Foltynewicz (1-3, 4.32), who is is 1-0 with a 3.12 ERA in his past three and still has nasty stuff. Very few Mariners have seen him. They go with Chris Flexen (2-1, 3.33) and even fewer Rangers have seen him. Seattle has won seven straight in this series (first meeting of year) and four straight games following an off day. Texas is destroying lefties but is 3-12 in its past 15 vs. a right-handed starter (which Flexen is).

                            BALTIMORE +1.5
ANALYSIS: There is a chance this game doesn't start on time due to rain but should get played eventually. The Orioles are decent value at -120 on the runline at home behind suddenly resurgent Matt Harvey (3-1, 4.06). The former Mets star has won three straight starts with a 3.24 ERA in that span. It's left Eduardo Rodriguez (4-0, 4.18) for Boston. He was knocked around last time out vs. Texas and also was a bit April 8 in Baltimore (5 IP, 3 ER). Batters are hitting .288 off him on the road compared to just .188 at Fenway Park this year. The Orioles are 4-1 in their past five vs. a lefty. Baltimore also has a small advantage in that it was off Thursday while Boston played in Detroit and used a lot of its bullpen.
