FREE PICK - Cincinnati Reds -132
          RATING: 30*
          ROT#: 952
I will take my chances with the Reds as a -132 home favorite against the Giants in Monday's series opener. San Francisco has the best record in the NL, but are a below .500 team (10-12) on the road. I just feel like the Giants are getting way too much respect in this game.
San Francisco will have their worst starter going in Logan Webb, who is 2-3 with a 4.86 ERA and 1.459 WHIP in 7 starts. Webb has especially struggled on the road, where he's 0-3 with a 7.58 ERA and 1.737 WHIP. That's a problem against this Reds offense. Cincinnati scored 27 runs (at least 6 in each game) during their 4-game series at Colorado and are scoring 6.9 runs/game at home this season.
Reds will also have one of their best starters on the mound in veteran Sonny Gray, who has really come to life after a slow start. Gray has a 3.55 ERA in 5 starts, but a 1.56 ERA and 1.153 WHIP over his last 3 outings. He's also got a 1.59 ERA and 1.059 WHIP in 2 home starts this season. Give me Cincinnati -132!

The Boston Bruins travel to Washington to take on the Capitals on Monday night. Boston is 33-24 SU overall this year while Washington comes in with a 37-20 SU overall record on the season. Washington took game One by a score of 3-2. Boston is 9-2 last 11 games after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. Boston is 12-5 last 17 games as a favorite. Boston is 36-16 last 52 games when playing on 1 days rest. Washington is 3-7 last 10 games as an underdog. We'll recommend a small play on Boston tonight! Thanks and good luck, Rocky

Having gone to OT, Game 1 could have easily gone either way. Down a game, the Bruins are going to fight with everything they've got tonight. They're 15-9 in the 'revenge' role. They're also 5-2 (+3.1) the past seven times that they were trailing in a playoff series, 30-20 (+5.9) their last 50 in that situation. The Caps, meanwhile, are 25-31 (-13.2) over the years, when leading in a series. Consider Boston.

Monday NHL Free play. My selection is on Boston over Washington at 7:35 pm et on Monday.
The Bruins certainly didn't play their best game on Saturday night yet they were right there, a goal away from stealing a series-opening victory in overtime. I expect a much sharper performance on Monday as they look to even up the series before heading back to Boston. Note that Boston has averaged 3.4 goals per game when coming off two or more consecutive losses over the last three seasons, outscoring opponents by 1.2 goals on average in that spot. The B's have given up just 1.5 goals per game after losing four or five of their last six games this season, outscoring opponents by an average of 1.3 goals per game in that situation. In that same situation over the last three seasons, they've gone 14-4, outscoring opponents by 1.1 goals on average. Better still, they're 21-6 the last 27 times they've come off consecutive one-goal road losses, as is the case here. They've averaged an impressive 3.6 goals per game in that spot. Despite its recent struggles, Boston continues to play well defensively, having allowed three goals or less in 19 of its last 23 games. It allows just 2.4 goals per game on the road this season. Look for a solid bounce-back performance from the B's here. Take Boston (8*).

The Minnesota Twins have arguably been the most disappointing team in baseball this season. The Twins are a dismal 2-9 in their last 11 and 7-19 during their previous 26 games. J.A. Happ’s overall resume has been a good one during his first season in Minnesota. However, facing the White Sox in recent years has been an enigma for Happ. Since 2019, the Twins lefthanded hurler is 0-3 in his team starts against the White Sox while posting an atrocious 13.87 ERA and 2.19 WHIP while doing so. Additionally, this current White Sox active roster has gone 30-86 (.349) when facing Happ with an extremely impressive .971 OPS. Happ doesn’t figure to get much assistance from a Twins bullpen which has posted a terrible 6.04 ERA and 1.88 WHIP throughout its last 7 games.
Since the start of last season, the White Sox are an incredible 23-2 when facing lefthanded starting pitchers. Furthermore, if those starting pitchers weren’t named Mike Minor, Chicago was a perfect 22-0 in those precise situations. White Sox pitcher Dallas Keuchel has made 3 career starts at Target Field in Minnesota and posted a sparkling 1.80 ERA during those appearances. Bet the White Sox on the money line on Monday for a free MLB pick.

Jack's Free Pick Monday: Washington Nationals +139
I like the value we are getting on the Washington Nationals as big underdogs to the Chicago Cubs today. The Nationals have gotten healthy and are starting to show what they can do at the plate with their underrated lineup. They have gone 3-1 in their last four games overall while scoring a combined 29 runs.
Jon Lester is showing he still has something left to give as well. Lester has posted a 2.25 ERA in three starts this season while allowing just 4 earned runs in 16 innings without giving up a single homer. He'll be opposed by Adbert Alzolay, who is 1-3 with a 4.50 ERA in six starts for the Cubs, including 0-1 with a 4.91 ERA in three home starts.
The Nationals are 23-6 in their last 29 games vs. NL Central opponents. Washington is 4-1 in its last five meetings with the Cubs, and 4-1 in the last five meetings in Chicago as well. Bet the Nationals Monday.

The Key: The Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins just recently played a high-scoring series. The game that really stood out was the same pitching matchup as tonight. J.A. Happ and Dallas Keuchel go at it again today after the White Sox won a 13-8 slug fest in their first matchup 5 days ago. Happ yielded 9 runs in 3 1/3 innings while Keuchel yielded 6 runs in 5 2/3 innings. The White Sox have torched left-handed pitching for 2 straight seasons now and are scoring 7.9 RPG against left-handed starters in 10 games in 2021. Take the OVER.

At some point the Twins have to improve on their 13-25 record. They certainly aren't that bad. But I don't see Minnesota starting to turn around its season in this game.
Yes, the Twins draw aging and declining Dallas Keuchel. But the White Sox get southpaw J.A. Happ. The White Sox are a mind-boggling 22-2 against lefty starters since the start of last season. Chicago leads the majors in batting against lefties at .293. The next closest is the Red Sox at .282. Happ found out the hard way how well the White Sox hit and play against lefties when he faced them in a 13-8 loss this past Wednesday in Chicago. The White Sox battered Happ for nine earned runs in 3 1/3 innings, by far his worst outing of the season. The 38-year-old Happ is another over-the-hill veteran, who has a bad history against the White Sox. His ERA is 6.34 in nine career starts versus Chicago. The White Sox lead the American League with a .343 on-bast percentage.
