ANALYSIS: The Knicks return to the playoffs for a matchup against a Hawks team they defeated in all three regular-season meetings. Madison Square Garden should be electric, making things even tougher for an Atlanta club that was just 16-20 on the road this season. Add in New York's sparkling 25-11 record at home, and I like it to start off the series with a win.

ANALYSIS: The Suns' return to the playoffs begins with a tough first-round matchup against a Lakers team that dealt with injuries throughout the season. It took a clutch 3-pointer by LeBron James just to get past Golden State in the play-in tournament. The Suns posted a 27-9 home record during the regular season, including a 17-point win against Los Angeles in their only meeting in Phoenix. The Lakers very well could win this series, but I like the rested Suns to start it off with a victory.

ANALYSIS: Houston has been let down by its pitching staff so far in this series, but its offense has remained strong. The Astros have gone an incredible 16 straight games with at least four runs scored. They should be able to count on a solid start on Sunday to back up that reliable offense as they turn to Cristian Javier, who has won all three of his career starts against Texas after posting a 4-3 victory just 10 days ago. Houston is 6-0 since Sept. 19, 2020 when Javier starts as a favorite when it won his last turn against the same opponent.
