The Red Sox have been a tremendous money-maker as an underdog winning 14 of the past 17 times in that role.
They opened as a slight 'dog hosting the Braves in a pitching matchup of Charlie Morton versus Garrett Richards. Morton has a 4.60 ERA. His road ERA is 4.41. He's surrendered a home run in six of his last seven starts. This could prove significant because the Red Sox are nearly as powerful as the Braves. Atlanta leads the majors with 78 homers after smacking 15 of them during their recently concluded four-game series against the hapless Pirates.
