#7 Doubly Blessed (5-1)-won three in a row then finished 4th in a 75k stake then missed by less than a length last out at this same distance and level. He is a perfect two for two on an off track, gets a huge rider upgrade to Saez and we should get a decent price.

#9 Mystic Night (3-1)-500k gelding showed little in his first two but has since won two in a row. He is improving with every start and is the one to beat.

#3 Superfecto (6-1) finished third last out in a grade III at Gulfstream with the second place finisher coming back to win his next start. He is well bred to like an off track and should be in the payoffs.

#2 Girolamo’s Attack (5-1)-drew off to win by four lengths last out in his first try going long. He gets more ground today, gets I.Oritz in the irons, runs for 38% winning trainer and will show speed.

The Orioles Matt Harvey has good career numbers against the White Sox but much of that is ancient history from 5 years ago and beyond. Harvey enters this start enduring a horrible stretch as he is 0-3 with a 15.18 ERA in his last 3 starts. He'll prove to be no match for Dallas Keuchel. The White Sox left-hander has allowed 3 earned runs or less in 7 of his last 9 starts. Long-term in his career he is also known for pitching very well at home, much better than on the road. My “Cutting Room Floor” plays are the situations I considered the closest to being worthy of investment but did not make the “final cut” for my official plays today for subscribers. The last play I cut for the late Saturday afternoon card was Over the Total in the game between the Denver Nuggets and the Portland Trail Blazers. Denver (49-26) took a 2-1 lead in this series on Thursday with their 120-115 victory against the Blazers which finished Over the 227 point total. The Nuggets have played 4 straight road games Over the Total against teams with a winning record at home. Denver has also played 7 of their last 9 games played at Portland Over the Total. The Trail Blazers have played 4 straight Overs after a straight-up loss. If the first few games of this series are any indication, we're likely in for a long, hard-fought series between these two Western Conference foes. The pressure falls squarely back on the shoulders of the Blazers on Saturday afternoon and I expect them to respond favorably. Note that Denver checks in a miserable 11-22 ATS after winning two or more straight games ATS over the last two seasons. I'm going to take the Padres as a -137 road favorite against the Astros on Saturday. I think San Diego has a massive edge on the mound in this one. Padres are sending out Yu Darvish, who has been outstanding to start the year. Darvish has a 1.75 ERA and 0.892 WHIP in 10 starts. Padres have won 9 of those 10 outings.
This also isn't just another start for Darvish. It will be his first against the Astros since he was rocked in two starts during the 2017 World Series with the Dodgers.
Houston is sending out Jake Odorizzi. While he's only made 3 starts, he has an awful 10.14 ERA and 1.627 WHIP. He's allowed more runs (9) than innings pitched (8). I just feel like this should be closer to -160. Give me the Padres -137!

The San Diego Padres opened this series with a 10-3 win on Friday, but it's worth noting that nine of the runs were scored in the ninth inning.
I expect a much lower-scoring affair when the teams clash again on Saturday.
The Padres hand the ball to Yu Darvish (5-1, 1.75 ERA) who has been lights out. Darvish has allowed one or no run in eight of 10 starts on the season and he has posted a 1.00 ERA in three road starts.
Astros' righty Jake Odorizzi (0-2, 10.13 ERA) has had a much tougher start to the year, but his poor start was most likely down to an injury. In his last start, Odorizzi threw just one-third of an inning against the Angels on April 24 before leaving the game with a right pronator muscle strain. I think he'll be much sharper now after healing up.
