The Red Sox are rolling off a somewhat improbable sweep of the Yankees in the Bronx and I expect them to stay hot as they host the Marlins in a make-up game on Monday evening at Fenway Park. Pablo Lopez will get the start for the Marlins. We faded him by taking the 'over' in his most recent start - a 6-5 loss to the Blue Jays in Buffalo. Lopez has been far shakier on the road than he has been at home this season, recording a 5.04 ERA and 1.48 WHIP while averaging just a shade over five innings per start. The fact that he hasn't been able to work deep into ball games on the road is concerning as the Marlins bullpen entered yesterday's action sporting a 4.31 ERA with eight blown saves compared to only six converted on the road this season. Nick Pivetta will counter for Boston. He has recorded a 3.69 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in six home starts this season with the Red Sox winning five of those. The Marlins will be seeing him for the first time since the 2018 season with Pivetta having posted a 5-3 team record in eight career starts against them. Behind Pivetta is a Red Sox bullpen that has been terrific at home this season, posting a 3.35 ERA and 1.31 WHIP while converting eight saves and blowing only four. Take Boston (8*).
