ANALYSIS: Getting Max Scherzer (4-4, 2.34) at +1.5 runs at a good price? Have to take it. He's not the mega-dominant force he was in his prime but still pretty darn good. Scherzer is 5-1 with a 2.63 ERA in his eight starts in Philadelphia since joining the Nationals and Washington is 7-1 in them. Zack Wheeler (4-2, 2.52) is a very good pitcher, too, but the Nats should at worse stay within a run with Philly down the likes of Bryce Harper and Didi Gregorius. The Phils are 1-5 in their past six as favorites and have dropped four straight series openers.

ANALYSIS: The Rockies annually are much better at home (which team isn't?) and terrible on the road but this season it's almost unprecedented the difference. We are 2-0 betting the Rox as RL dogs this week and think they may win this opener outright vs. Oakland. Colorado ace Jon Gray is 4-1 with a 2.36 ERA in seven starts at home this year. Oakland's Frankie Montas (5-5, 4.45) is on a personal three-game skid and 0-2 with a 4.82 ERA in two career starts against Colorado. The A's lose the DH, which is usually Mitch Moreland.

He has faced the Royals twice this season and allowed 13 earned runs in 7.2 IP. Take the value on the Royals.
