Washington's pitchers need help from the offense - especially LH Jon Lester, who has watched the team lose two of his last three starts despite having allowed just one run in each. The Pirates have lost seven straight contests. I’m on the Nationals.

The interesting thing is that Chicago RHP Lance Lynn has slightly better expected numbers on the year and much better hard hit numbers than Glasnow. But because Glasnow throws 94th-percentile fastball heat, he will continue to get the love from the market. Go against that favoritism and take the White Sox at a great price.

ANALYSIS: The Phillies have won four games in a row but they head on the road where they are 11-19 on the season. The Dodgers have won seven of 10 games and they are 21-11 at home this season. Tony Gonsolin is making his second start off the IL and he only allowed one run including four strikeouts in his first start, but he also allowed five walks and only got five outs. Spencer Howard hasn’t been much better though with his longest outing of the season being four innings, and he has 9 walks in his last 9.1 IP. This could be a bullpen game very early for both teams but I like the Dodgers at home.

ANALYSIS: Nathan Eovaldi was absolutely hammered by the Astros in his last outing at home, and with the way the Blue Jays have been swinging it this series, I don’t expect that to change. The Blue Jays hit eight home runs yesterday and they have scored 25 runs in the past two games. Alek Manoah has had two good starts and one bad start so far this season but like I said, this play is on the Blue Jays bats anyway. The Red Sox have lost four of their last six games and their starting pitching has been miserable recently, take the value on the Blue Jays.

Jon Lester hasn’t had the success he would like so far this season but he still didn’t allow more than one run in five of his eight starts. The Pirates are tied for the second worst wOBA against lefties this season and they have lost seven straight games. They are just 10-22 on the road this season, take the Nats in what I think will be Jon Lester’s first win with the Nats.

ANALYSIS: I thought the Islanders would come out with a strong first game and they did, outplaying the Lightning in just about every aspect of the game. However, the Islanders weren’t very good on the road in the regular season while the Lightning and Andrei Vasilevskiy was one of the best in the league. The Lightning got to see the Islanders for the first time this season in their first game and I think they will have much more success in Game 2. I think this line will only go up as we get closer to game time so take the Lightning at home to even the series.

ANALYSIS: The Canadiens have been off resting for a while now while the Golden Knights are coming off a hard fought series against the Aves. Once again, we will see these teams face off for the first time this season in the semifinals and I think it favors the underdog. The Canadien division was easily the worst in the NHL this season and there were some extreme results in their playoffs with the Oilers and the Jets getting swept. However, I think the Canadeins have nothing to lose tonight and their goalie is one of the only ones in the league that can go shot for shot with Marc-Andre Fleury. The value on puck lines in the playoffs is non-existent, so I will take the Canadiens in a flyer to steal Game 1.

The Clips' move of Nic Batum in the starting lineup in place of Ivica Zubac paid major dividends in Game 3. No word yet on whether Mike Conley plays for Utah, but I doubt it and even if so like Los Angeles to tie things up.

Price is No. 2 in these playoffs with a 1.97 GAA and Fleury is second at 1.91. Both teams play a more defensive style. The Under is 5-2 in the Canadiens last 7 games as an underdog.

Nats lefty Jon Lester (0-2, 4.19) isn't great these days but still good enough to beat a Pittsburgh lineup that is 18-44 in its past 62 vs. southpaws.
