MLB | Cardinals vs Braves
Play on: Cardinals +173 at pinnacle
1* MLB - Cardinals/Braves *FREE PICK* on Cardinals +173
Thursday's Free MLB Pick is on the St Louis Cardinals as a massive +173 road dog against the Atlanta Braves. I know the last two starts have been ugly for Cardinals starter John Gant, but guy still has a 3.36 ERA in 12 starts overall and a 2.27 ERA in 7 road starts this season.
Also not like the Braves have a top tier starter going. Charlie Morton has a 4.36 ERA in 13 starts with a 5.79 ERA in his last 3 outings. Atlanta is also not playing great all right now, as they have lost 6 of their last 7. Cardinals on the other hand have won 3 straight. Bet the Cardinals +173!

MLB | Cardinals vs Braves
Play on: Braves -175 at Draft Kings
1* Free Sharp Play on Braves -175
The Braves (-175) are worth a look here as a big home favorite against the Cardinals in Thursday's MLB action. St Louis comes in having just swept the Marlins at home in a 3 game series, but they only scored 8 runs total in those 3 games. They just aren't swinging a good bat right now. You also can't trust Cards starter John Gant, after he's allowed 12 runs on 8 hits and 8 walks in his last 2 starts (5 2/3 innings). Play the Braves -175!

MLB | White Sox vs Astros
Play on: Astros -127 at linepros
My free play is on the Hou Astros at 8:10 ET.
The Chicago White Sox ended an 11-year playoff drought last season and entered the 2021 season as one the favorites to win the AL pennant. Chicago opened a modest 16-13 but after last night's 8-7 (10 innings) win over the Rays, the White Sox have won 27 of their last 39 to give them MLB's best record at 43-25. The White Sox also own MLB's best run-differential (plus-107), as they get set to open a four-game series tonight at Minute Maid Park against the Houston Astros. The Astros won THREE straight AL West titles from 2017-2019, making two World Series and winning in 2017. Houston made the 2020 postseason playoffs at 29-31, only because of its expanded format but had quite a run. The Astros beat the Twins and A's plus took the Rays to seven games before losing in the ALCS. Houston opened the current season 6-1 but then lost NINE of 10. However, the Astros welcome the White Sox to Houston having won 32 of their last 50 games and at 39-28, are within 2 1/2-games of Oakland in the AL West. Houston's won seven of nine and owns the AL's second-best run-differential mark of plus-93.
The starting pitchers for tonight's opener are Dylan Cease (5-2, 3.38 ERA) for Chicago and Jose Urquidy (4-3, 3.77 ERA) for Houston. Both players made their MLB debuts in 2019. Cease made 26 starts in 2019 and 2020 going 9-11 with a 5.00 ERA. As for Urquidy, he made 14 appearances (12 starts) the last two years, going 3-2 with a 3.44 ERA. Cease has made 13 starts in the current season and after Chicago lost his first three starts, the White Sox have won EIGHT of his last 10. Cease has allowed three ERs or less in eight of those 10, including winning back-to-back starts while posting a 1.50 ERA over 12 innings. Those two have come on the heels of him allowing a season-high six runs in a 6-5 loss to the Cleveland Indians on June 1. Urquidy's season has somewhat mirrored Cease's in that the Astros were just 1-3 in his first four starts but are 6-1 in his last seven, with Urquidy having allowed three ERs or less in all seven.
This is expected to be an excellent series but I'll side with Houston here in Game 1. The Astros improved to a season-high 11 games over .500 with their 8-4 win over the Texas Rangers on Wednesday and have won 12 of their 16 games. Urquidy owns a 4.59 ERA in six away starts in 2021 but in five home starts, his ERA drops to 2.83 while he's held opponents to a .200 BAA. In stark contrast, Cease owns a 1.63 ERA and .196 BAA in seven home starts but a 5.79 ERA in six road starts.
Good luck...Larry

MLB | Reds vs Padres
Play on: Reds +159 at pinnacle
Jack's Free Pick Thursday: Cincinnati Reds +159
The Cincinnati Reds are now 11-2 in their last 13 games overall and playing their best baseball of the season. They have scored 5 or more runs in eight of their last 12 games overall and have the best lineup in the NL Central. They have also held five straight teams to 3 runs or fewer during their current six-game winning streak.
The San Diego Padres are just 1-7 in their last eight games overall and were just swept by the Colorado Rockies. They should not be this big of favorites over the Reds tonight even with the impressive numbers that Joe Musgrove has posted this season for the Padres.
Wade Miley has been too good this season to be this big of an underdog as well. He is 6-4 with a 2.92 ERA and 1.119 WHIP in 11 starts, including 2-1 with a 1.59 ERA in his last four starts while allowing just 4 earned runs in 22 2/3 innings. Miley hasn't allowed a single homer in any of his last six starts which spans 34 2/3 innings.
The Reds are 8-0 in their last eight road games. Cincinnati is 7-1 in its last eight games as an underdog. The Reds are 9-2 in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning record. Cincinnati is 5-2 in its last seven meetings with San Diego. Bet the Reds Thursday.

MLB | Brewers vs Rockies
Play on: Rockies +141 at linepros
FREE PICK - Colorado Rockies +141 RATING: 30* ROT#: 908
The underdogs have been biting for me this week (cashed 3 straight free picks on dogs) and we got another decently priced dog on the board Thursday. I really see some great value with the Rockies at +141 at home against the Brewers.
Milwaukee comes into this series having just been swept in a 3-game series at home by the Reds. The most notable thing from the sweep is the Brewers offense, which was a complete no show. Milwaukee scored just 4 runs on 13 hits in the 3 games vs Cincinnati.
As for the Rockies, they are fresh off a 3-game sweep of division rival San Diego at home. Colorado is now 23-14 at Coors Field this season (5-27 away). As long as this team keeps playing as bad as they have on the road, they are going to continue to show value at home.
German Marquez will start for the Rockies. He's got a very respectable 3.99 ERA and 1.349 WHIP in 9 home starts and even more important Colorado is 7-2 in those games.
Brandon Woodruff is definitely one of the better starters for Milwaukee, but I don't care about what kind of numbers a guy has when they are starting at Coors. In his two previous starts at Colorado, Woodruff has failed to finish 5 innings, giving up 8 runs on 14 hits and 4 walks in 7 2/3 innings. Give me the Rockies +141!

MLB | Brewers vs Rockies
Play on: Brewers -148 at linepros
Brewers vs Rockies Free Pick June 17, 2021
I love the price we get on the Milwaukee Brewers with Brandon Woodruff (5-2, 1.52 ERA) on the mound. The team has won each of his last four starts and eight of his last 10. Woodruff has allowed one or zero runs in seven of those outings and never more than two.
Rockies' righty German Marquez (4-6, 4.60 ERA) was rocked for nine runs (eight earned) in five innings of a 10-3 loss at Cincinnati in his last start. Marquez is 1-2 with a 5.04 ERA in five career starts against the Brew Crew.

MLB | Brewers vs Rockies
Play on: Brewers -142 at linepros
Thursday MLB Free play. My selection is on Milwaukee over Colorado at 8:40 pm et on Thursday.
The Brewers are coming off a surprising home sweep at the hands of the Reds while the Rockies just delivered a rare home sweep of the Padres here at Coors Field. I look for both teams fortunes to change on Thursday, however, as the Brewers send Brandon Woodruff to the hill against German Marquez.
Woodruff has been lights out on the road this season, posting a sparkling 0.67 ERA and 0.57 WHIP in six starts, averaging 6 2/3 innings per start along the way. While Woodruff's career numbers against the Rockies aren't good, he hasn't faced them since the 2018 season. He's a much better pitcher now than he was then. Behind Woodruff is a solid Brewers bullpen that has posted a collective 3.51 ERA and 1.25 WHIP on the road this season.
German Marquez will counter for Colorado. He has pitched reasonably well at home this season, guiding the Rockies to a 7-2 record in his nine starts at Coors Field while recording a 3.99 ERA and 1.35 WHIP. My concern, however, is that he averages between five and six innings per start and the Rockies bullpen behind him has struggled to the tune of a collective 5.81 ERA and 1.52 WHIP here at home this season (entering yesterday's action). Take Milwaukee (8*).
Event: (905) St. Louis Cardinals at (906) Atlanta Braves Sport/League: MLB (See all free MLB picks) Date/Time: June 17, 2021 7PM EDT Play: Atlanta Braves -1.5 (+100) J Gant (RHP), C Morton (RHP) Must Start
The Braves enter off back-to-back high-scoring 10-8 losses versus the Red Sox, but Atlanta will now face a much weaker offensive opponent tonight. Despite three straight wins, the Cardinals scored only 7 totals runs in those three games, and have now scored 2 runs or less in four of their past five outings. Meanwhile, Atlanta has 16 total runs in their past two losses and have at least 9 hits or more in four of their past five games, while the Cardinals have 6 hits or less in four of their past five contests. Atlanta starter Charlie Morton should get back on track tonight versus a weak St. Louis lineup, and despite a higher ERA on the season, Morton (1.29 WHIP) has a much better walks + hits per innings pitched compared to St. Louis starter John Gant (1.65 WHIP).
