          Play Rating: 4 units
          Play: Atlanta Hawks +7.5 (-110)

We were on the Hawks for game 1 in this series, an outright win for Atlanta with 7.5 points in our pocket. So what do the odds makers do? They put up almost the exact same number for game 2. This Bucks team is the same team we’ve seen the past 2 seasons. They’re poorly coached, and really shouldn’t even be in this position. If the Nets were anywhere close to healthy they would have taken care of Milwaukee. Atlanta is a great team for us to bet on because they can really shoot the basketball, which makes them “live” to win every game. We’ll put the points in our pocket again for insurance. Take the Hawks.

Play: Washington Nationals +123 J Lester (LHP), P Lopez (RHP) Must Start

Washington kept their winning streak alive on Thursday with an easy 7-3 win in their opening game in Miami. The Nationals have now won 10 of their past 11 games with Jon Lester heading to the mound Friday. Lester has been rock solid, not allowing more than 2 earned runs in any of his past 5 starts. This is a team in great “current form,” and we’re getting them at a bargain price. The Marlins have now lost 4 straight games and 8 of their past 10. They’re getting some support because Pablo Lopez has pitched well this season, but Miami’s offense hasn’t done anything worth backing. In fact, they’ve scored a total of just 5 runs in their past 4 games. Take the Nationals.
Line Parameter: 5 units at +120 or higher, 4 units at lower than +120
        • Game: (929) Seattle Mariners at (930) Chicago White Sox

          Play Rating: 4 units
Play: Chicago White Sox -1.5 (+105) Y Kikuchi (LHP), C Rodon (LHP) Must Start

After a day off Thursday the White Sox return home to start a 3 game set with Seattle. Chicago has been a great money maker for us all season long and there’s no reason to think that will stop here. Carlos Rodon owns an ERA of 1.83 and hasn’t allowed more than 1 run in 4 of his past 5 starts. Expect the offense to put up some crooked numbers in this one and take Chicago run line.

Game: (923) New York Yankees at (924) Boston Red Sox

Play: New York Yankees -120 Action

4% Take the New York Yankees (#923) (-120ish)
The Red Sox came into the Bronx and swept the Yankees in a three game set earlier this month. New York is primed to repay the favor, starting tonight!
The Yanks were struggling mightily when Boston swept them, in the midst of an ugly 3-10 skid. That was then; this is now. New York has won seven of their last nine – sweeping the Blue Jays, taking two out of three from the A’s; walking off against the Royals on Wednesday and following that up with an 8-1 blowout yesterday that left their bullpen fresh to close out tonight’s game. Right now, the surging Yankees are a one way team for me – I’m betting on them in a statement game, or I’m leaving the game alone.
Boston overachieved early, but they’re coming back to earth. They managed to plate only two runs in the final two games of their just concluded series at Tampa, their second straight series loss after dropping two out of three at Kansas City last weekend. Starter Martin Perez failed to reach the third inning in each of his last two starts at Fenway: 11 runs allowed in 3.1 innings of work against the Jays and Astros in a pair of ugly blowout losses. Perez has a 7.92 ERA in seven previous career starts against the Yankees; a track record worth fading in a game the Yanks are primed to win.

          Take the Yankees.

This is way too many points to give the better-coached, well-prepped, and scrappy Hawks. Atlanta has been money to us bettors, covering eight of their last 11 postseason outings. Milwaukee, on the other hand, has crushed followers, going 3-8 ATS their last 11 playoffs contests. The Hawks outhustled the Bucks in Game 1. Milwaukee is very similar to a Philly team which Atlanta ousted in the last round. The Hawks are 19-7 ATS L26 at the Bucks, 5-1 ATS L6 as a road ‘dog, and 15-6 ATS L21 on one day rest. The Bucks are 1-4 ATS L5 following a SU loss, 1-4 ATS L5 as a fav, and 0-7 ATS L7 home games vs. teams with a losing road record. Take Atlanta. Thank you.

              Game 930.
              5:10 pm pst.

While Seattle has heated-up, the AL West is a two-horse race and the M’s are not in the hunt. Chicago has a two-game lead over Cleveland in the Central’s two-horse race. The White Sox are one of baseball’s best home teams, donning a 27-12 mark at Guaranteed Rate Field. The Mariners, once they leave home, are having problems. They are just 15-21 as a visitor. Chicago has taken two of three meetings with Seattle in 2021. Today, Kikuchi (4-3, 3.46) and Rodon (6-2, 1.83) are starters. The White Sox average nearly a full run more than does the Mariners and yield more than a full run less. Seattle is 11-31 L42 road games vs. LH starters. Chicago is 40-13 L53 as a home favorite. Take the White Sox. Thank you

                  Smyly/Gutierrez
Drew Smyly has not pitched great this year, but has the advantage going against a Reds team that struggles to hit left handed pitching. Vladimir Gutierrez is a good young pitcher, but he has to get his walks down if he wants to be a house hold name one day. At even money we will go with the more experienced pitcher who is starting to settle in. Take the Braves

ANALYSIS: The Over is 8-0 when the Dodgers are seeking immediate revenge for a home loss in which they never led. The Over also is 9-0 when the Cubs are on the road off a game as a dog and they scored two or fewer runs for their starter in his last start. We're on the Over.

                        ATLANTA +7.5
ANALYSIS: The Hawks pulled off the upset in Game 1 thanks to Trae Young exploding for 48 points. While that might seem like a difficult feat to duplicate, he’s shown throughout the playoffs that he can thrive on the offensive end regardless of how tough of a defensive team that he’s facing. I don’t think the Hawks take a 2-0 lead in this series before things shift to Atlanta, but with how tough they have played during their playoff run, taking the points Friday is too appealing to pass up.

ANALYSIS: The Dodgers have lost four consecutive games and were no-hit by the Cubs on Thursday. Hits and runs are expected on Friday as L.A. will face struggling veteran Jake Arrieta (5-8, 5.45 ERA). Expect his slide to continue and for the Dodgers to finally get a win against the Cubs this season. (L.A. is 0-4 against Chicago this year.) Play the Dodgers run line.

ANALYSIS: After consecutive series on the road the A's return to the Bay Area to face the Giants. Last season the A's controlled this series and dominated the Giants bullpen to lopsided victories in five of six games. Look for value on the A's based on the Giants having an off day Thursday.
