That'll be a daunting task with Gerrit Cole starting, even though the Yankees are only 10-10 with him on the mound. (Also, a Cole bettor is down 10.4 units.) They’ve also lost three of Cole’s last four starts against the Rays. This bet is mostly against Tampa Bay starter Luis Patino, who has allowed 15 runs over his last three starts. Yankees to win.

ANALYSIS: It’s going to be a beautiful day in San Francisco, with the wind expected to be blowing out slightly at nine miles per hour. These two starters should help get this game get Over the total. Los Angeles LHP David Price will get four or five innings of work before the bullpen takes over, but the Dodgers have lost his last four starts. The Giants also have lost RHP Johnny Cueto’s last four outings. Despite the fact both lineups are hitting poorly, the Over is the top play.

Royals pitcher Carlos Hernandez isn't very good but is facing a very weak lineup. Perhaps that it's so hot limits how long Sox Cy Young contender Carlos Rodon (8-4, 2.24) is out there. Also: top setup man Michael Kopech and closer Liam Hendriks are both unavailable.

ANALYSIS: The Cubs are resting both Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo -- maybe it's just because of a day game after a night game, but it also could mean both are about to be traded. Frankly, it would be a shock if Bryant isn't dealt by tomorrow's deadline. With those two out, we'll back the Reds behind resurgent pitcher Luis Castillo. He was awful the first two months but had a 1.71 ERA in June and has the exact same 1.71 ERA this month. Chicago's Alec Mills has a 4.71 ERA in day games. The Cubs are 1-10 in their last 11 vs. a team with a winning record.

ANALYSIS: I'm happy to play behind Carlos Rodon and against Carlos Hernandez on Thursday, even with the rather steep price. Rodon is an absolute animal, with an expected slugging percentage of just .236 this season. That’s borderline absurd, just as is his .242 xwOBA. Rodon has yet to give up four runs in or lose in back-to-back starts. He did both in his last outing, so I’d be surprised if he doesn’t bounce back and shut down this rather weak Royals lineup. Hernandez walks more than 19 percent of batters faced and on a hot day those walks will lead to extended innings and likely some big numbers for the White Sox. I am on Chicago.

Analysis:
My 10* PERFECT STORM is on the Tor Blue Jays at 7:10 ET. Toronto snapped a two-game slide with a big 4-1 win here yesterday and with its ace on the mound, I think the visiting side will find a way to deliver again here on Thursday. Hyun-Jin Ryu (9-5, 3.44 ERA) gave up three runs and struck out four over four innings in a no-decision to the Mets on the weekend. It was just the third start this year that he's failed to pitch at least five innings. No need to hit the panic button obviously. Note that Ryu is 5-3 with a 3.44 ERA on the road as well this season. The home side counters with Eduardo Rodriguez (7-5, 5.23), who has pitched much better over the last month, but he was just pulled from his last start after one inning due to migraine issues. He's been given the green light here, but I say, advantage Ryu! Note as well that Toronto is 7-2 in its last nine after holding its opponent to one or less runs in a road victory in its last outing. Look for Ryu to go deep and for Toronto to post a second straight victory. The play is the Jays. Good luck...Larry
