I've got to go with IT'S FATE and is a respectable value bet given the line. Has performed soundly lately in route races, posting a nifty 74 avg speed rating. Shows reliable Equibase Speed Figures on average overall when compared with the rest of this group of horses in this race. Going in a dirt route race gives this gelding a very good shot. JEEZUM JIM - He has been running solidly and the Equibase Speed Figures are among the most respectable in this group. This gelding with Cruz in the irons makes him a key contender. AULD LANGE SYNE - Could beat this group given the 84 speed rating garnered in his last outing. Has formidable Equibase Class Figures relative to this field - worth a look.

LIMONATA - It looks like Martinez had to become familiar with this filly on July 13th when riding her for the initial time. Back on again today. 52-60-72 are last 3 speed ratings. Improving each time out is something she should do again in today's race. Have to make this filly a contender; she comes off a good race on July 13th. PUFFER FISH - Rice drops her down to this class level. You don't need too much more handicapping info to figure that this horse will be one to beat at this level. Don't often see a beneficial return on investment like +146. This jock/trainer tandem has done well together over the last twelve months. I think this mare is very sharp right now. I like the fact that Rice brings her back to a race so quickly. This mare is rounding her way back into shape. Should run well today. After a nice race two starts ago, this horse bounced. Now today, I expect another good performance. CYBERBURG - Martin enters this thoroughbred in a spot where she should fit well based on her last two Equibase speed figs. Filly's win percentage is better than 50 percent in first and second starts off a vacation. This jockey and trainer's horses have been producing a profitable return on investment. I like the hard fact that this filly's last figure, 75, is tops in this field. BETTERTHENYOURX - Ran last out against much better horses at Presque Isle Downs. The move to a lower class level should suit her well.

QUICKSTRIKE - Difficult to take this runner at this price after the finish position (sixth) in the last race. Difficult to put your dough on the win end of any thoroughbred that finishes second and third as often as this one does. Could be tough for this animal to beat this bunch off of that last speed fig. Unlikely to improve enough to run a figure anywhere near today's class figure, so put her on the likely underpriced contenders list.
