BETHABARA - Trainer Smith moves this animal down the ladder based on class rating points to face a lower rated field. Look for a sharp performance in this race. This mount may have too much power on the turf for the rest of the field. At the top of the lane, she could put these away. You'll be making money left and right by turning your racing money onto this jockey/conditioner combination. I think that a sprinter coming off a layoff will usually run her best in the 3rd or 4th start back. You have to be keen on that most recent race figure, 78, which is the top recent race speed rating of this group. I'm focusing on the class of this horse, and this one is the 'classiest' of the bunch.

With better than average trips to the winner's circle, Birzer will almost certainly have this gelding in excellent position to win the outing. TIME GOES ON - He looks very good in this spot and I expect will be on the lead or close at the halfway point. Must be given a shot based on the decent speed rating earned in the last affair. TAKE ME UP BRADY - Has very good Equibase Class Figures relative to this field - worth a look. Has been running very well lately and will probably be close to the front end early on.

HIDENSEEK SALLY - The July 26th event at Mountaineer Park was at a class level of (76). Dropping to a lower class rank considerably, so she should be in a good spot. My expertise says this is the only pace presser in the race. When this rider and conditioner combine forces you have to take a look. Paucar and Clouston have been great together. Have to make this mare a serious competitor; she comes off a sharp contest on Jul 26th. The 69 last race rating looks good in black and white. She has the topmost earnings per start. Check out this one.

Vulnerable Contenders: #7 SOUTHERNPERFECTION (ML=6/5), #6 WORLD IS MY CITY (ML=5/1), #3 GRITTY KITTY (ML=6/1),

SOUTHERNPERFECTION - The morning-line favorite is vulnerable here with the lack of drills. WORLD IS MY CITY - Finished sixth last time. Would have to move up to finish in the money today. Could be tough for this animal to beat this field off of that last fig. Doubtful to improve enough to run a figure close enough to today's class rating, so put her on the likely underpriced equines list. GRITTY KITTY - The lack of morning blow outs has to make one concerned despite the nice performance in the last race. Won't be easy for this racer to beat this group off of that last rating. Doubtful to improve enough to run a figure anywhere near today's class figure, so put her on the vulnerable competitors list.

The New York Yankees have been hit hard by COVID and injuries of late and are short-handed right now. They should not be this big of favorites over the Kansas City Royals on the road in Game 1 of this series tonight.
The Yankees are without Rizzo and Sanchez and could be without Torres tonight. They are also missing several pitchers including Cole, Chapman, Montgomery and German. It's hard to trust Jameson Taillon in this big of a favorite role considering he is 3-3 with a 5.27 ERA and 1.406 WHIP in nine road starts this season.
Carlos Hernandez has been impressive in his last two starts against the potent Chicago White Sox. He has gone 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA in those two starts while allowing just one earned run in 11 innings. The Royals have won those two games as +230 and +160 underdogs.
The Royals are 6-1 in their last seven home games. Kansas City is 6-1 in its last seven games after scoring 5 runs or more in its previous game. Bet the Royals Monday.

I think we are getting more than a good enough price to take a flyer on the Royals as a +158 home dog against the Yankees. While KC is just playing for pride at this point of the season, it's always a big deal when the pinstripes come to town. I also just think New York is being way overpriced right now.
Yankees had their 5-game losing streak snapped in a 0-2 loss to the Dbacks on Sunday. I like to fade teams off a loss following a big win streak and after a game where the offense was a complete no show.
I know NY starter Jameson Taillon has been much better here of late, but he does have a mere 5.27 ERA and 1.406 WHIP in 9 road starts. KC's Carlos Hernandez has also been very serviceable with a 3.57 ERA and 1.132 WHIP in 4 starts.
You also have a game where the heat index is expected to be over 105 degrees at first pitch and the wind is going to be blowing out to left. This really a coin flip if you ask me and it's just not being priced like it. Give me the Royals +158!
