ANALYSIS: This may be the last time this season I back the Orioles as favorites -- shoot, they may not be favored again -- but they start ace John Means (5-3, 2.79), who just won in Detroit on July 31 in allowing one run over six. The Tigers are without three key offensive players in Akil Baddoo, Niko Goodrum (both on IL) and Miguel Cabrera (day off). The Birds are on a seven-game skid but this may be their last chance to end it for a while with trips to Boston and Tampa Bay up next. Tigers rookie pitcher Matt Manning has a 9.13 road ERA.
