ANALYSIS: Late add on the Cubs only because ace Kyle Hendricks is pitching and is opposed to Colorado's Antonio Senzatela, who is 0-6 with a 5.80 ERA on the road this year. The Rox also are resting All-Star shortstop Trevor Story. I'm well aware the North Siders have lost 13 straight at home, but Colorado is putrid on the road. This may well be the last time I back the Cubs in 2021.

ANALYSIS: This will be only the third game in MLB history in which both teams enter on nine-game win streaks (or better) and the first since 1901. Perhaps small advantage Yankees in that their Sunday game was rained out so they will have a full bullpen -- but also lose the DH (Giancarlo Stanton is playing right field). Maybe it's a bad thing the Braves are at home? They are on a franchise-record 13-game road winning streak. I was going to take whichever team here was getting +1.5 on the runline. Do trust Yanks starter Jordan Montgomery a bit more than Atlanta's Huascar Ynoa. New York has won its past six vs. the National League, while the Braves are 1-9 in their past 10 at home vs. the AL.

ANALYSIS: No Tim Anderson again for the White Sox, so I probably wouldn't have taken them on the moneyline if favored, but I certainly think they can stay within a run at worst behind Cy Young candidate Lance Lynn -- plus the far superior bullpen. Lynn dominated the Jays in a no-decision back in June. Toronto rookie Alek Manoah has had a nice first year but was roughed up last time out and hasn't been as sharp overall in August.

The Astros are the #1 team vs LHP and the #2 team in hitting for the last 30 days. They face a lefty with a 5+ ERA today. Lynch held the Astros to 1 run in 7 innings last time out so we get an advantageous line here. Also, Greinke is not really great at home. Add to the fact that the golden rule is never lay a run line on a home team. I am bucking all of those and betting the #1 team vs lefties facing a lefty with 5+ ERA. Sinple as that make it a 1% play.

ANALYSIS: The Blue Jays are just 3-7 in their last 10 games and the White Sox have won their past two series openers before dropping the series. Lance Lynn is a legitimate Cy Young candidate and hasn’t been able to get that deep lately, but the White Sox have a much better bullpen. Alek Manoah is still a rookie despite the good start to his career. Take the White Sox to win the series opener.

Senzatela/Hendricks
The Rockies have been on a roll and this year have hit Cubs pitching well. Kyle Hendricks has struggled this year as his home runs, hits and walks per 9 innings are up while strikeouts are down. Hendricks isn’t a power pitcher so I expect the Rockies to get runs on the board. The Cubs have really struggled losing 15 of 17, but when I see them favored by this much it makes one thing Vegas is baiting people to fade these Cubs. It’s going to be hot and humid with a light wind blowing out so we should get decent hitting weather. Antonio Senzatela gives up a lot of hits and like Hendricks is not a big strikeout pitcher. I think Chicago gets their bats back on track tonight. Take the Over.
