ANALYSIS: The Mets come off an emotional Subway Series win and are only three games out for the final NL wild-card slot, but the Cardinals are only one game out and have veteran ace Adam Wainwright carrying them every five days. The Cardinals have won four straight behind him and nine of his last 10. The price is cheap. Take the Cardinals to win.

ANALYSIS: There's no doubt the Ravens are the better team, but I've bet that the Raiders are competitive with a chance to win. QB Derek Carr has to hit a deep pass or two, RB Josh Jacobs (illness) needs to play and gain 100 yards on the ground and the Raiders' defense can't give up last year's average of 29.9 points. Those are a lot of needs, but I like Las Vegas to cover in a high-scoring game.

ANALYSIS: The Raiders' defense will be improved this year due to several key additions plus coordinator Gus Bradley. He's the same coordinator who devised a plan while with the Chargers to shut down Lamar Jackson in the playoffs, when Jackson was a rookie. Look for the Raiders to play inspired before a raucous crowd and take this game to the wire.

ANALYSIS: These are pretty juicy odds and it's because many people see the pitching matchup and assume it favors Yu Darvish and the Padres. The problem for them which is great for us is that Darvish has a 6.84 ERA since the beginning of July and the Padres have lost seven of his 10 starts in there. Plus, the Giants are 18 1/2 games better than the Padres overall and are 43-25 at home. The Padres are 30-37 on the road and have gone 8-19 since Aug. 10. I'm not too worried about the Giants needing a bullpen game here. Dominic Leone starts things off and he has a 1.27 ERA in his last 21 1/3 innings and the group as a whole is excellent.

ANALYSIS: The Blue Jays are 11-1 this month and have won 14 of their last 16. They come home to the Rogers Centre where they are 17-7. Alek Manoah gets the start and he's overall been good, albeit a bit inconsistent (what else would we expect from a rookie starting pitcher?). It's all about the offense here, though. During these last 16 games, the Jays are hitting .304/.390/.582 while averaging 7.5 runs per game. The Rays appear to be running out a bullpen game and while they are deep and good, I like the Jays to get to them at some point.

ANALYSIS: Even though the Mets were at home Sunday night and the Cardinals had to fly to New York, the Cardinals still got to bed earlier while the Mets were finishing up a marathon nine-inning game packed full of emotion. Monday seems like a hangover game. Plus, the Mets have to deal with Adam Wainwright. The Cardinals have won an absurd 14 of Wainwright's last 17 starts. He has a 2.29 ERA in that stretch. He works deep into games, too, averaging 7 1/3 innings per start over his last 10. The Mets send Rich Hill to the mound and he's been really good in his own right, though the Cardinals hit lefties hard.

ANALYSIS: The secondaries are the weak points of these defenses. This is going to make for a lot of passes and a high-paced game. The loss of Marcus Peters is really going to hurt the Ravens in this one. Both teams should be able to make scoring look easy.
